Desperate Housewives

I saw this story yesterday and thought about posting it but decided against it. But apparently? Is news. So I’m posting it! Wee! Josh Henderson, the young hottie who plays naughty Austin on “Desperate Housewives” has been confirmed as Paris Hilton’s newest boy-toy. The pair were seen leaving a movie theater in Los Angeles together on Monday, before he kissed her goodnight at her SUV. And that’s not all, as the picture above was snapped on March 24, last Saturday where the pair were partying it up together at Hugh Hefner’s 81st birthday party. AND, apparently Paris took Josh to a party last week that her sister Nicky was holding for her boyfriend, David Katzenberg. Wow, this is starting to sound serious.

What does Josh have to say about this? “She’s awesome”, he told paparazzi on Tuesday after the two were seen fleeing an LA hotspot together. Oh dear, what would Julie say?

It would appear that Jesse Metcalf didn’t (just) enter rehab on his. Nope, he had some good motivation. His girlfriend, Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle, threatened to leave him if he didn’t get help for his alcohol problem. Apparently his heavy drinking was causing a huge strain on their relationship and Nadine was nearing the end of her rope.

“Jesse is getting help. I’m just glad he has realized he couldn’t go on the way he was. It was hurting me to see him do that to himself. I’m going to be there for him and do all I can to help but at the end of the day, Jesse has to make the decision to stop on his own.”

It’s good that she’s supporting him and rooting for him while he’s in recovery. But at the same time, she’s not taking away his accountability and I think that’s great. Let’s hope that rehab works for him.

When co-star Jesse Metcalf checked himself into rehab for alcohol abuse, no one was more surprised than his former on-screen flame Eva Longoria.

“I was really surprised. I worked with Jesse for a long time and he is the most put together young actor you’ll ever meet.”

But at the same time, she hopes the best for her co-star and makes it clear that she supports him during this undeniably rough period in his life.

“He wants to be responsible and do the right thing. That’s a brave thing and I support him 100 per cent.”

There’s an online auction going on right now that gives bidders a “chance to fulfill their celebrity fantasies.” And that includes a walk-on role for “Desperate Housewives”. The auction is sponsored by the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial and is being organized by Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, RFK’s daughter. The hope is to raise $600,000 for the organization, which works to promote human rights around the world.

Head over to the charitybuzz website to bid on this and many other fantastic lots (including a visit to the “24″ set and lunch with Richard Gere). The walk-on role also comes with a stay at the famous Ritz-Carlton hotel. The bidding is currently at $9,500. You can afford that, can’t you? It’s for a good cause, after all. Bidding closes on April 6th.

Are any of the rest of you out there as sick of this mini-hiatus as I am? It feels like we haven’t had a new episode in about a month (though I know its only been a couple weeks). And guess what? Next week, while it isn’t exactly a repeat, is a clip show. Ugh, I’m so sick of those clip shows. I keep feeling like they’re trying to pass them off as a real episode when they so totally aren’t. But the good news is that next week is a clip show in order to catch us all up for the new episode that will be airing on April 8th. So there is hope on the horizon. Life and Style magazine has conducted a poll on who’s got the sexiest legs in Hollywood. And guess who came out on top? That would be our very own Eva Longoria (who was seen February 18 at the Collection Bebe fashion show in LA with a cute, shorter hairdo)! Also rounding out the top five were Matthew McConaughey, Paris Hilton, Cameron Diaz and Beyonce Knowles. But the important thing is that Eva was crowned Queen of the Legs and hers are tops in Hollywood. Tell us something we don’t know, huh? Good for Eva, though. Having just celebrated a birthday (those seem to come more and more often the older you get), I’m sure being on this list is a wonderful boost to the ego.

Wow. I find out today, just a day after posting about Jesse Metcalf’s “reign of terror” at the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood, that he has followed the celebrity trend and entered rehab. I guess once Lindsay Lohan and Brittany Spears does it, everyone else has to too. His rep is quoted as saying:

“On Monday, March 19, Jesse Metcalfe entered a rehab facility to deal with alcohol issues. He realized he had a problem and was anxious to deal with it immediately. The actor, best known as the hunky gardener on the ABC show ‘Desperate Housewives’ and the star of the film ‘John Tucker Must Die,’ hopes that the media will allow him the privacy to deal properly with his treatment.”

It’s still unknown which rehab facility he has checked into, but it is known that he is there for treatment for alcohol abuse. Maybe while he’s there he can get some treatment for anger management as well, you think?

Jesse Metcalf hasn’t been making very many good impressions lately, it seems. Especially not at West Hollywood’s Mondrian Hotel. Apparently, the star has been blacklisted from the property after recently partying there for four days straight and being mean to the staff. Then, last Friday he exploded at a doorman that worked for the hotels Skybar when he wouldn’t let him in. As a result, he was denied a room at the hotel on Saturday. The hotel insists he hasn’t been officially banned from the premises, but it doesn’t sound promising. He best not make any plans to stay there anytime soon, sounds like.

And when it rains it pours. Jesse recently revealed that his girl-crazy youth is to blame for him losing pretty much all of his friends.

He says, “You’re so wrapped up in a girl that you stop hanging out with your friends and doing the things you enjoy. You lose your sense of self and your identity as a man - and that’s never good.”

Hugh Laurie from FOX’s wildly successful tv show “House” has decided to put together a band. A “rocking jazz group” of all things. Yes, it’s true! I know, I was surprised too because of all people to start a band, I’d never suspect “House”. The band is called, interestingly enough, Band from TV. Clever, huh?

And guess who is playing guitar? Our very own James Denton, of course! I never knew Hugh Laurie was musical and I never would have figured Mike Delfino as a guitar player. But there you have it. Who is fronting the band, you ask? None other than Bob Guiney of “The Bachelor” fame. And why are these guys doing this? For fun? Maybe, but maybe it’s more for work.

The group is recording music inspired by his hit medical drama for an album produced by composer David Foster.

Teri Hatcher isn’t above golfing for charity. She and some other “Desperate Housewives” cast and crewmembers came out on Sunday to play some golf and raise money for the Casa Pacifica children’s charity. Turns out, the only castmember with any decent amount of golf experience is Dougray Scott who grew up in Scotland (the birthplace of golf) and has been playing since he was six. The rest pretty much stank up the joint. But at least they raised boucoup bucks in the process. Each of the tournament players donated anywhere from a couple hundred to a couple thousand dollars to join in the fun. And it sounds like they did have a lot of fun.

Ricardo Antonio Chavira (Carlos) played golf for the first time only two days before the tournament. Still, he enjoyed some friendly competition with John Slattery, who plays his romantic rival on the show. As far as the game, Chavira insisted, “I’m going to kick his (butt).” Just a few hours into the tournament, though, Chavira had hit two houses near the course.

Today is our favorite pint-sized “Desperate” diva’s 32nd birthday. She celebrated with a cake at last night’s launch of BebeSport’s new campaign, featuring Eva and thrown by Cosmopolitan Magazine. Eva was born on March 15, 1975 in Corpus Christi, Texas, the youngest of four sisters. She attended Texas A&M in Kingsville and received a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Kinesiology. She then went to Los Angeles to get discovered and landed several roles on different soap operas before landing a big role on “The Young and the Restless”. It was that role that helped her get discovered for “Desperate Housewives”. Eva is dating San Antonio Spurs basketball player Tony Parker and the two are set to be married this summer, on July 7 in his native France.

Marcia Cross left the house the other day with her husband Tom Mahoney just two weeks after giving birth to twin daughters. I saw these pictures over on the “Desperate Housewives” blog at b5media and I just had to share them with you all. Doesn’t Marcia look fantastic? She honestly doesn’t look like she’s just given birth to two girls. She looks maybe a little tired (the sunglasses are a dead giveaway), and maybe a little tender still (the way she’s holding onto her husband’s arm). But shoot, who wouldn’t be?? Hopefully this means we’ll get to see pictures of the twins pretty soon. I also can’t help but wonder if this means Marcia will be ready to return to “Desperate Housewives” soon or if she’s out for the rest of the season. Andrea Bowen, who plays Teri Hatcher’s daughter Julie Mayer on “Desperate Housewives”, has just landed a starring role in a new television movie about a student who contracts HIV. Andrea will be playing the student who discovers she has HIV after having unprotected sex with an HIV carrier, played by Eric Von Detten. Former “Beverly Hills 90210″ star Jennie Garth will also star, playing a teacher who becomes friends with Andrea’s character after she learns she has HIV. The movie is called “Consequences” and will air sometime this summer.

ExtraTV, the television entertainment magazine program, revealed last night some footage from the set of “Desperate Housewives” where Teri Hatcher was involved in a stunt that took a turn for the worse, quite literally! For the scene, Teri Hatcher’s Susan Mayer was supposed to into the lake in her car and be rescued by James Denton’s Mike Defino. But the car flipped over in the water, putting quite the wrinkle in the filming. Teri knew they couldn’t reshoot the scene so she decided to just go with it.

“We were upside down and sinking in the car,� she revealed. “Re-shooting wasn’t an option and I went, ‘I know, I know. Why don’t we shoot the scene with the two of us hanging outside of the car?’�

Glad to hear it all went well and no one was injured. On another note, sounds as if it might not be curtains after all for Mike and Susan. We can only hope!
