Andrea Bowen
TV Watch…
Wednesday, June 4th, 2008Good morning, everyone! I thought today I’d fill you in on where you can see some of the cast on TV. Most of the main housewives have appearances coming up.
First off, let’s talk Teri Hatcher. Tuesday, June 10, you can see her on VH1’s “The Fabulous Life Of…” series. That comes on at 2AM eastern, so set those VCRs! If you’re looking for something more kid-centric, tune into Toon Disney on the 11th at 5 PM and 7:30 PM eastern to see Spy Kids. Finally, tune into Sci Fi channel on June 14th to catch her in Momentum. It’s about some men stealing cars using the power of telekinesis. Teri plays an FBI agent on the case who doesn’t buy into the supernatural thing. Set those VCRs if you’re not a night owl, though. It airs at 3 AM.
Felicity Huffman is in a couple movies on TV as well. First up is Georgia Rule, which airs on HBO East tonight at 8 PM. It will also air June 14th at 4 in the morning. She plays Lindsay Lohan’s alcoholic mother in the film. She’ll also be in Raising Helen, where she plays a woman who dies in a car accident, leaving her sister to raise her children. That will air on AMC at 10:30 PM, June 10th.
Finally, there’s Andrea Bowen. She stars in the Lifetime movie Girl, Positive on June 11th at 9 PM. In the movie, she plays a teenager who discovers she’s been infected with HIV. Warning to you viewers out there… it’s filmed in a kind of odd way with IM windows, computer cameras and all delivering some of the action. If you’re easily bothered by the fast-paced MTV-style filming, you may have issues with this one. Still, it’s a pretty decent story and Andrea does well in it. Check out this clip below to get a taste of the movie.
Well, that’s all for now. Til we meet again, take care!
Desperate Housewives Out and About
Thursday, May 22nd, 2008Good morning, everyone! Later on today, I’ll be giving you the actor/actress of the week. For now? Let’s check it on where some of the cast has been showing up lately.

This picture of Eva and Brenda was taken on April 28th. They were Events of the Heart’s “You Gotta Have Heart” premiere in Westwood, California. It’s always a bit surprising to me to see Brenda next to the other cast members, since she’s so much taller.
How’s this for a random paring? That’s Elizabeth Berkley (yes, the chick from Saved by the Bell and Showgirls) chatting with Marcia during the Feed 100 reception at Whole Foods in LA. That took place just a few days ago, on May 19th.
Finally, Felicity Huffman was spotted at the Rogan for Target event at Barneys in Beverly Hills on May 15th. I gotta say that the filming break looks like it’s agreeing with everyone.

Andrea Bowen’s not just sitting around now that Julie’s on her way to college. Besides the album I mentioned a few posts back, she’s appearing in the play Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenaged Blockhead. It’s a twisted take on the Peanuts gang, where Andrea will be playing Charlie Brown’s sister. The show opens June 7th at Hudson Backstage Theatre in LA. She’s also considering an offer from Dancing with the Stars.
Are you fearless about spoilers and wanna hear some gossip about next season? Well, read on. (more…)
Desperate News Brief
Wednesday, May 14th, 2008Good morning! Later on today, I’ll be dishing about Richard Burgi on Reaper, but for now… there’s plenty of news to talk about. Plus, a new promo! First off, everyone’s talking about Edie leaving Wisteria Lane and wondering if that means the end of Nicolette Sheridan on the show. Her reps aren’t talking and Marc Cherry is being a bit tight-lipped as well. The story’s so big, it even made the AP newswire. It seems to have done the ratings some good as well. The episode brought it over 15 million viewers.

Andrea Bowen is also in the news right now. I’ve read various reports saying that, like her TV parents, she has the music bug. She’s planning to record some songs over the summer. Look out, Teri and James! I’ll be looking forward to hearing what she can do.
Finally… I promised a look at the promo. I’m sad to see that the season is ending already, but at least we’re getting a two-hour episode! And what an episode it appears to be. It looks like Lynette’s in for some trouble thanks for Kayla’s phone call and Katherine appears ready to spill what’s going on with her and her family. My personal favorite moment of this promo is the housewives reaction to Susan’s choice in baby names. I have had that reaction many times myself… If you missed it, here it is:
What do you think of Susan’s choice? Will Edie ever return? And what on earth is Katherine hiding? Darned if I know, but maybe you do! Comment and share you thoughts.
Andrea Bowen reveals what’s up for her character
Monday, August 13th, 2007
Who doesn’t love little Julie Mayer on “Desperate Housewives”? Ever since season 1, she’s been the yin to her ditzy mother’s (played by Teri Hatcher) yang. The voice of reason, if you will. In recent seasons, Andrea Bowen has been allowed to take her character to new heights and it sounds as if season 4 will be no different. Expect to see Julie cause some troubles for newlyweds Mike and Susan. Apparently Mike is trying a little too hard to be a father for Julie and she’s not interested. Also, look to see Julie get another love interest in her life. In a show that largely showcases older actors and actresses, Andrea looks forward for the opportunity to work with those her own age. And what about college? Don’t count it out, though it might be the direction she hopes for her character.
“Do I want my character to go off to college? No, I’m very happy where I am but I wouldn’t be too devastated if it happened because none of us feel too secure with their jobs being that people get killed left and right. I think we all live with the suspicion that we’re going to be going.”
Best of luck to Julie, that she stays on Wisteria Lane for a good while to come!
Andrea Bowen gets part in HIV film
Monday, March 12th, 2007
Andrea Bowen, who plays Teri Hatcher’s daughter Julie Mayer on “Desperate Housewives”, has just landed a starring role in a new television movie about a student who contracts HIV. Andrea will be playing the student who discovers she has HIV after having unprotected sex with an HIV carrier, played by Eric Von Detten. Former “Beverly Hills 90210″ star Jennie Garth will also star, playing a teacher who becomes friends with Andrea’s character after she learns she has HIV. The movie is called “Consequences” and will air sometime this summer.
Congrats to Andrea on her rising star!

Our girls didn’t bring home any awards last night, but it didn’t prevent them from looking (mostly) fabulous in the process. Take Teri Hatcher for example. She looked absolutely stunning in her dress. Following the “white trend” from the Golden Globes, she went big-time glam and Old Hollywood and looked fantastic doing it.

Felicity Huffman, on the other hand, didn’t look as fabulous as I know she can. She almost looked, dare I say it, a little frumpy in her knee-length black dress. I just don’t think it was that great a style on her.

Eva Longoria, also, didn’t look that great in her dark grey gown. A very pretty dress, it might have looked better on someone a little taller as the folds of fabric just seemed to envelope poor Eva and make her look even shorter.

Brenda Strong was there and she looked really great in the same color. I did find there was something distracting about the neckline on her dress. It didn’t seem to match too well with the rest of the dress. But she’s a tall lady and was able to pull off the “pillar” look very well, overall.

Nicollette Sheridan was also there and looked about as you’d expect her to: Amazing. Michael Bolton must be a proud man. She also chose a lighter color, like Teri, but hers was more neutral in color. The neckline almost reminded me of something you’d find in the lingerie department. Combined with her sultry hairstyle, she looked very sexy.

Lastly, we have Andrea Bowen, who plays Teri Hatcher’s daughter Julie on the show. Wow, she’s growing up, isn’t she? She chose a coppery gown that complimented her skin and hair so nicely. She looked pretty fantastic as well, I thought. I almost didn’t recognize her when I first saw her.
.
.
Fashion “don’t’s” aside, all the ladies looked far better than I ever do even on my best of days. I’m sorry they didn’t win (and Felicity was ROBBED! Sorry, America Ferrera.), but I enjoyed watching the glamor. I just love awards season.
