TV Watch…

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

Good morning and Happy 2009 Today, I wanna fill you in on when some of our favorites will be on TV in the next week or so. Let’s start with the people who were/are regulars.

Nicollette Sheridan- You can see her in Code Name: The Cleaner on HBOe on January 2nd at 10 AM. She’ll also be in Spy Hard, airing January 5th on AMC. That’s at 4:45 am, so you better program those VCRs/DVRs….

Mark Moses- You can see him in the movie Monster-in-Law on TNT. You have two chances to see that one in the next week, January 3rd at 8 PM and 4th at 4:30 PM. He’ll also be in a rerun of 7th Heaven on January 5th at 7 PM. That airs on WGN.

Brenda Strong- You can check her out in The Craft on HBOe. They’re playing it at 4:25 AM on the 3rd and 3:30 PM on the 5th. You can also see her in Encore’s showings of Spaceballs. Those are scheduled for January 5th at 8 Pm and January 6th at 3:10 AM.

Now, let’s talk about some of the recurring people. There are several of them appearing in shows and movies soon. First off… Roger Bart, our very own George the Pharmacist. If you have the east coast versions of Showtime, you’ll be able to see him in the movie Hostel Part 2. SHOe has it airing January 3 (10 PM), 6 (10 PM) and 11 (10 PM). SHO2e will air it air it on the 4th (11:30 PM) and the 9th (11 PM). You can also see him on MOMAXe’s airing of The Producers on January 4th at 7:45 PM.

Dixie Carter, aka: the mother-in-law of Bree’s nightmares, is going to be in the Hallmark Channel’s airing of Our First Christmas on January 2nd at 1 AM. You can also see her guesting on a USA repeat or Law and Order: Special Victims Unit at 4 PM on the 4th or Lifetime’s rerun of Desperate Housewives January 9 at 12 PM.

Well, that’s all for now. Take care and I’ll see you all again tomorrow!

Brenda News!

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Happy Friday, everyone! What a week it’s been on Wysteria Lane, huh? I just love the pre-season… it’s usually such a busy time and for the Housewives cast, it’s been crazy this week. Well, there’s another bit of info I just found out to share with you. It’s not along the lines of some of the men’s news, but it’s good and involves our own Mary Alice Young.

If you’re a fan of the show Boston Legal as well, you’re going to want to make sure you tune in this season. Brenda Strong has been signed on for a guest starring role as a judge this year, taking her in front of the camera for a change. Should be pretty interesting. Her character is being described as “sexy but tough” and the episode has reportedly already been shot. She’s no stranger to being in front of the camera, though. She’s been guest starring on shows for years now. One of her best known would probably be as Sally Sasser on Sports Night. Oddly enough, that role had her sparring with future best friend Felicity Huffman, who played Dana Whitaker.

Another cool fact about her is she’s also a yoga instructor and a fertility expert. Nothing like having something to fall back on, huh? After listening to her do the voice overs for the past 4 years, I have to say she definitely has the voice for a job like that. Well, that’s about all for now. I’ll see you guys again on Monday with more news and recaps. Until then, take care!

Desperate Housewives Out and About

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

Good morning, everyone! Later on today, I’ll be giving you the actor/actress of the week. For now? Let’s check it on where some of the cast has been showing up lately.

brenda-and-eva.jpg

This picture of Eva and Brenda was taken on April 28th. They were Events of the Heart’s “You Gotta Have Heart” premiere in Westwood, California. It’s always a bit surprising to me to see Brenda next to the other cast members, since she’s so much taller.

marcia-and-elizabeth.jpg How’s this for a random paring? That’s Elizabeth Berkley (yes, the chick from Saved by the Bell and Showgirls) chatting with Marcia during the Feed 100 reception at Whole Foods in LA. That took place just a few days ago, on May 19th.

Finally, Felicity Huffman was spotted at the Rogan for Target event at Barneys in Beverly Hills on May 15th. I gotta say that the filming break looks like it’s agreeing with everyone.

Andrea Bowen’s not just sitting around now that Julie’s on her way to college. Besides the album I mentioned a few posts back, she’s appearing in the play Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenaged Blockhead. It’s a twisted take on the Peanuts gang, where Andrea will be playing Charlie Brown’s sister. The show opens June 7th at Hudson Backstage Theatre in LA. She’s also considering an offer from Dancing with the Stars.

Are you fearless about spoilers and wanna hear some gossip about next season? Well, read on. (more…)

Getting “Desperate”?

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Don’t. Just because the finale is upon us, that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to see your favorites on TV regularly. Besides the reruns on Lifetime of earlier seasons, the cast is going to be all over your TV and I’ll be keeping you up-to-date on when.

During the rest of this week, you can see Teri Hatcher on The View and The Late Show with David Letterman on the 16th.

Marcia Cross will star in a Seinfeld episode on the 17th. That will air on TBS at 6:30 PM.

Look for Eva Longoria Parker on HBOSGe. Her movie The Sentinal will air on the 16th at 9:45 AM and 11 PM.

Wanna see Brenda Strong instead of just hearing her do the voice-overs? Now’s your chance. She’s going to be in a Seinfeld episode airing on TBS today at 5:30 PM. You can also catch her on HBOSGe in The Deep End of the Ocean.

Reaper isn’t the only place to see Richard Burgi. You can also catch him in Just Shoot Me on TBS. That will air on the 16th at 2:30 PM.

Catch Orson himself, Kyle McLaughlen on the 17th when he stars in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me on IFC. That will air at 11:15 PM.

Dana Delaney will be on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on the 15th at 11:35 PM as well as guest starring on an episode of Cheers. You can see that on TVLand on the 16 at 8 AM. Don’t forget her role in Tombstone, either. That airs on SHOe at 8 AM on the 18th.

By the way…. I’m sure many of you are aware that Marcia was a regular on Melrose Place in the 90s. She played Dr. Kimberly Shaw, someone who makes Bree look like the definition of well adjusted. Well, here’s a clip I found of her from the show. It’s arguably her most famous scene in the whole serious. Well, with the exception of the time she blew the whole building up…

Eva Longoria’s wedding in Paris

Monday, July 9th, 2007

PhotographersNo, there isn’t any photos of Eva in her wedding dress yet.  Not that I can find, that is.  The pair were married twice this last weekend.  First, there was the civil ceremony at a town hall in Paris on Friday.  Then, we had the giant, star-studded affair that took place on Saturday.  The festivities were incredibly locked down with the paparazzi and fans kept at a great distance from the church and the loving couple themselves.  What few pictures I have seen are of the wedding guests and perhaps one or two of Eva and Tony’s limo.  I can barely contain my excitement, I don’t know about you.

All reports are that the wedding went off as planned and that it was a stunningly lavish affair.  OK! magazine has exclusive rights to the photos of the couple and the festivities and we should be getting a look at those sometime later this week.  And maybe we’ll get some details as well.  I can’t blame them for putting their most special day under lock and key; I’d probably be tempted to do the same.  But shoot, throw us a bone!  Let us at least see a picture of her in her dress!  At any rate, best wishes to the happy couple, wherever they are!

“Desperate” at the SAG Awards

Teri HatcherOur girls didn’t bring home any awards last night, but it didn’t prevent them from looking (mostly) fabulous in the process. Take Teri Hatcher for example. She looked absolutely stunning in her dress. Following the “white trend” from the Golden Globes, she went big-time glam and Old Hollywood and looked fantastic doing it.

Felicity HuffmanFelicity Huffman, on the other hand, didn’t look as fabulous as I know she can. She almost looked, dare I say it, a little frumpy in her knee-length black dress. I just don’t think it was that great a style on her.

Eva LongoriaEva Longoria, also, didn’t look that great in her dark grey gown. A very pretty dress, it might have looked better on someone a little taller as the folds of fabric just seemed to envelope poor Eva and make her look even shorter.

Brenda StrongBrenda Strong was there and she looked really great in the same color. I did find there was something distracting about the neckline on her dress. It didn’t seem to match too well with the rest of the dress. But she’s a tall lady and was able to pull off the “pillar” look very well, overall.

Nicollette SheridanNicollette Sheridan was also there and looked about as you’d expect her to: Amazing. Michael Bolton must be a proud man. She also chose a lighter color, like Teri, but hers was more neutral in color. The neckline almost reminded me of something you’d find in the lingerie department. Combined with her sultry hairstyle, she looked very sexy.

Andrea BowenLastly, we have Andrea Bowen, who plays Teri Hatcher’s daughter Julie on the show. Wow, she’s growing up, isn’t she? She chose a coppery gown that complimented her skin and hair so nicely. She looked pretty fantastic as well, I thought. I almost didn’t recognize her when I first saw her.
.
.

Fashion “don’t’s” aside, all the ladies looked far better than I ever do even on my best of days. I’m sorry they didn’t win (and Felicity was ROBBED! Sorry, America Ferrera.), but I enjoyed watching the glamor. I just love awards season.

Brenda Strong Interview in TV Guide

Monday, December 18th, 2006

Brenda StrongOur favorite voice-over Housewife has a new interview with TV Guide magazine. In the interview she talks about a new role she has on ABC’s new sitcom “Help Me Help You” with Ted Danson (playing his new love interest!). They also talked at great length about “Desperate Housewives”, including joking around about Mary Alice’s voice-overs and her love of using trite proverbs to illustrate a point and how she must have been killed of because she was so much taller than the other ‘wives. She was even asked for the story behind how she got the voice-over job in the first place, since that wasn’t the original plan. Brenda also said that while she would love to be able to show up for work in her pajamas (since she doesn’t need to be on camera for her “scenes”), the closest she’s come is sweats after a yoga class. But she is chummy with other ‘wives, often going out to dinner together. We also got to hear about a movie she will be appearing in, called A Plumm Summer with Hugh Jackman and Henry Winkler. Sounds good to me! Head over and read the interview for yourself for all the juicy details!
