Desperate Housewives

All wedding-talk aside, you do remember that Eva Longoria is the new face of Bebe Sport, right? Shots from her recent photoshoot for the clothing company have been released and they are definitely fabulous. Take a look and tell me what you think. The storyline of Gabby on “Desperate Housewives” being a former model doesn’t seem quite so far fetched at the moment, does it?

Desperate Blog recently posted some pictures of Eva and Tony’s honeymoon and I just have to say, “Who died?” The pictures look like they were taken as the couple was traveling about the island on a golf cart-esque vehicle and playing tennis.  And they just look so… happy.  Don’t they?  If you’d like to take a peek at the rest, head on over to Desperate Blog and have a peek.  But just so you’re clear, this was a honeymoon, not a funeral.

Eva is back at home in the States and back at work on “Desperate Housewives”. She and newly-minted husband Tony Parker took a week-long honeymoon, alone, on the Turks and Caicos island in the Caribbean. But, as of Monday, Longoria was back on the set of “Desperate Housewives”. Oh, and in case you were wondering, don’t expect to see her name changed in the credits. At least, not yet.

“It will say Longoria for a while, but I love the tradition of taking the name Parker,” the actress told OK! “Legally everything is changed.”

I kind of like the notion of taking the husband’s name myself, so I can understand that. At any rate, glad to hear that Eva is back at work and that “Desperate Housewives” is already working on some smoking storylines for our fourth season.

I think I had reported on this before, but it’s “official”.  Marc Cherry, creator of “Desperate Housewives”, gave a toast to the happy couple at their wedding reception on Saturday and said, “No kids!”  This came as no surprise to the couple as Eva had been asked before by Marc to hold off on having any children for at least a year.  Why?  Where, it’s not in the grand storyline plan, after all.  They’re on a pretty tight “budget” here, with a finite number of seasons remaining to wrap up storylines and cover news ones.  A pregnancy just doesn’t fit in with the plan.  But before you feel bad for Eva and Tony, they’re completely fine with this agreement.  Apparently, they’d like to take a little time before starting a family anyhow.  Well, that’s handy!

OK! Magazine doesn’t hit newsstands until tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a little peak at the exclusive wedding pictures from Eva Longoria’s wedding today.  You can only get the barest idea of what her wedding dress looks like, but what I can see of it looks gorgeous.  Of course, did I expect any different?  The amount of hubub over these nuptials has surprised me to no end.  Pardon me for saying, but I didn’t think either of them were that big of a deal until this whole wedding thing.  Shows how naive I am, huh?

Eva was remarkably calm about the entire affair and in OK! Magazine’s interview, said,”Every girl dreams of having a beautiful, romantic wedding,” says Longoria. “It was amazing to see it unfold after months of planning. We really wanted to create an experience for our guests. It was about them having fun.” All reports indicate that they pulled off their wishes in perfect fashion.  Again, congrats to the new couple.  I’m glad to hear their big day was such a big success.

No, there isn’t any photos of Eva in her wedding dress yet.  Not that I can find, that is.  The pair were married twice this last weekend.  First, there was the civil ceremony at a town hall in Paris on Friday.  Then, we had the giant, star-studded affair that took place on Saturday.  The festivities were incredibly locked down with the paparazzi and fans kept at a great distance from the church and the loving couple themselves.  What few pictures I have seen are of the wedding guests and perhaps one or two of Eva and Tony’s limo.  I can barely contain my excitement, I don’t know about you.

All reports are that the wedding went off as planned and that it was a stunningly lavish affair.  OK! magazine has exclusive rights to the photos of the couple and the festivities and we should be getting a look at those sometime later this week.  And maybe we’ll get some details as well.  I can’t blame them for putting their most special day under lock and key; I’d probably be tempted to do the same.  But shoot, throw us a bone!  Let us at least see a picture of her in her dress!  At any rate, best wishes to the happy couple, wherever they are!

When I heard that Eva Longoria was hosting the Alma Awards, I will admit the first thing I thought was, “I wonder what she’ll wear?”  I needn’t have worried.  I should have realized she wouldn’t be wearing just one thing but MANY MANY things.  The Awards air tonight (check your local listings!) but were filmed over the weekend where Eva dazzled us with dance and with her many beautiful dresses.  Which is your favorite?

Eva Longoria is going to be hosting next weeks 2007 Alma Awards (June 5th, to be exact!) and in preparation for the big event, she’s taking some dance lessons with Mario Lopez (who, you may remember, was on “Dancing with the Stars” and knows how to cut quite a rug).  Mario is also her co-host for the awards and the two are practicing for a dance number that will feature both them and the professional dancers we’ve grown to know and love from “Dancing with the Stars”.  Says Eva: “We actually don’t have a lot of time to rehearse. Thank God, Mario is pretty much a natural dancer.” I imagine Eva has quite a bit of natural talent herself.  I’m sure the two of them will set the dance floor blazing!

Eva’s wedding is rapidly approaching now and more and more details are getting out about her lavish nuptials.  This will be the sports wedding of the summer, if not the wedding of the summer, period.  The ceremony, as we know, will be taking place at a gorgeous old cathedral just a stones throw from the Louvre museum and the reception will be at the 16th-century Chateau de Chantilly.  Estimations on the cost of the whole she-bang?  $5.36 million.  Yes, MILLION.  Tony has 15 Tiffany Classic beer mugs for his San Antonio Spurs teammates.  The wedding cake, via Beverly Hills chef Sam Godfrey, is rumored to have cost $32,150 and will have it’s own first class seat on the plane to Paris.  

Holy moly!  What do I have to do get an invite to this deal?  Sounds like there’ll be a great time had by all!

The wedding is a little over a month away and already we’re talking kids! Eva Longoria has recently said that she and Tony are looking into adopting a child shortly after their wedding coming up in July. Eva has mentioned before her desire to have children. But then, considering the fiasco that Marcia Cross’ twin pregnancy caused for “Desperate Housewives”, Eva had jokingly assured Marc Cherry that she would not get pregnant anytime soon. But, lest you think that not being pregnant is the only reason she and Tony would adopt, Eva recently told Latina magazine:

“We both have big hearts and the finances to do it, and we want to be able to provide an environment of love and stability to a child who otherwise wouldn’t have that.�?

Good for them, I hope they’re able to carry through with it.

This here is a dedicated working girl. We all know by now that Eva Longoria’s fairy tale wedding to basketball star Tony Parker will take place in Paris, France on July 7, less than two months away. But what we don’t know that is that the newly married pair won’t be jetting off to a grand honeymoon vacation after the ceremony and reception. Instead, Eva will be returning to the USA and Los Angeles in order to back at work on Monday morning. Yep, “Desperate Housewives” starts filming for the fall season again on July 9. And Eva will be there. Now that’s commitment.

Eva Longoria was recently at the launch of Coach’s new fragrance, an event to benefit the EBMRF charity. And, of course, she looked downright adorable. Enjoy some of the pictures below and take particular notice of the completely awesome bag she’s sporting. Let’s not even talk about her shoes because then I might just go into an Awesome Coma. I haven’t smelled the new scent yet, but from what I know about Coach, I imagine it’s fantastic. Remind me to look for it on my next trip to Sephora!

Eva knows what it’s like to be hounded by the media. Of all the “Housewives”, she ends up in the news and tabloids at least twice as much as the rest of the ladies. So she knows a little about how difficult it is to function on a daily basis with the paparazzi following your every move. With that knowledge in hand, she offers her sympathies for Victoria and David Beckham, recently moved to Los Angeles from the UK, who have a storm of media follow them at every turn.

“I feel really bad for them, because I know in London it’s pretty hard for them, and I think it’s going to be pretty hard for them here (in LA) as well. They’re so iconic and so famous and so beautiful and everything about them is fascinating to people. I adore them! I think they’re wonderful, wonderful people.”

Felicity Huffman threw co-star and pal Eva Longoria a bridal shower at her Los Angeles home this past Sunday, inviting a huge amount of friends and family, including her other “Desperate Housewives” costars, Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Brenda Strong and Nicolette Sheridan. All accounts show that the party was quite a success. At one point, Eva presided as judge over a competition where unmarried guests made wedding gowns out of toilet paper. Teri Hatcher won the grand prize, a tissue tiara. The theme was “Home”, obviously, as little pink houses served as centerpieces for the tables and Felicity requested that guests bring gifts for each room of their new home together. Felicity joked that she didn’t need to give a gift since she was the one throwing the shower. Uh, don’t think it works that way, Felicity.
