Since the next new episode is still a week away, I thought I’d share some more Q&A interviews posted online. It’s “Ask Desperate Housewives”. The first video is posted by desperate videos and features Marc and Felicity Huffman.

Don’t worry about spoilers, cause you’re not going to find any in this one. Basically, they’re just asking a lot of general question of them in this one. He introduces her as the ‟magnificent‟ Felicity Huffman. They talk about whether or not either of them feel jealousy about other plots, why Dr. Heller has not been identified yet, extending the show by two years as well as what goes into making the show each week. My favorite part is where Felicity is asked what she’d like to see happen with Lynette. She says she’s not that smart and admits that she has not thought about that at all- she just lets the writers do their thing.

This second video comes to us from wreckcentered and is an older Q&A with Marc (as always) and Kevin Rahm (Lee). This was, hands down, my favorite of the two videos. They talk about who Lee (and Kevin) fears most, whether or not March will make a cameo on the show and where Marc gets his ideas. He admits that he is not invited to parties very often because people are scared he’ll put their lives into the show. Kevin and Marc also talk about how Kevin managed to get cast on the show, which is my second favorite moment in the video. Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and see y’all next time.

Hello, everyone. Well, we’re apparently not getting any new episodes until the 8th, so I went looking around youtube and found a cool video. It’s a behind the scenes interview with Marc Cherry and Dana Delany that was posted by DHCentral. There’s no real spoilers in it, so it’s safe to watch for anyone avoiding them. Check it out:

For anyone who may not be able to watch, I’ll give you a little recap of what they talked about. One of the questions talked about her auditioning for Bree. Yeah, I know… old news. Still, they mentioned a few things I hadn’t heard before with that. Apparently, she broke Marc’s heart because she came in to audition and then decided to turn down the part later. He tried several times to get her back before she agreed to come on the show as Katherine. They also talked a plan he’s thinking about for next year that would involve going back in time and what are the easiest kinds of scenes to play (they say being ruthless and making quips are the easiest). He also talks about where he came up with some of the names and someone else he wanted on the show.

One of my favorite parts is when a fan asks Dana what resident she’d like to have an affair with. You have to see the look on Marc’s face when she says Bree to really appreciate his reaction. It’s priceless. I was also surprised to learn that he was once Dixie Carter’s (who went on to play a role on Housewives) assistant. Well, that’s about it for now. Good morning everyone! Do I have some news to spill today! Now, I’m sure you all remember me reporting that Marc has said the series will be ending with its 7th Season. This was partly because he can’t stand the thought of anyone messing with his ‘baby’. Well, get ready for a little twist.

E!Online says an insider has revealed to him that the show will actually be going for another two years (seasons 8 and 9). While it’s not 100% on paper, the insider says Marc revealed the news while cutting a cake. I can only assume that means he delivered the news during the 100th episode celebration.

I’m kinda mixed on this news, actually. Don’t get me wrong. I adore the show and think everyone is very talented. In fact, I think this season has been its strongest year since Season 1. I’m also encouraged by how the show seemed to get better towards the end of Season 4 and has continued to get strong after they jumped into the future in season 5.

Still, I think of some of the other really long running shows and realize it’s hard to keep the quality going for such a long period of time. Can the Housewives crew step up to the challenge and break the series decline trend? Only time will tell and you know I’ll be there watching it all play out.

Good morning, everyone. So, how are y’all doing today? Ready for the weekend and a new housewives episode? Yeah, that’s what I thought. Normally, I’d bring you some sneak peaks today but that’s not going to happen this time because there’s none posted out there that I have seen today. Maybe we’ll get some tomorrow. For now, though, I wanna share something else with you: A pod cast.

Marc Cherry’s been doing these pretty much all season and today is the first time I sat and listened to one. Not bad. He basically discusses what happened last week and talks about what we can expect for the new episode. Here’s the clip (just beware if you’re spoiler-free):

Good morning, guys!! So… you love reading recaps to get yourselves all caught up on the show. Still, you’re a little unsatisfied. After all, nothing quite beats seeing it all play out in live action right in front of you. You don’t have the DVDs, so what are you supposed to do? Well, you’re in luck!

Lifetime TV, which has been airing the series in the middle of the night here and there, has now added the series to its daytime schedule. Every day at noon, you can catch up with all the Wysteria Lane craziness from the beginning. They’ll repeat the episodes at 8 AM the following day. It all starts this week, so be sure to tune in if you’re a late addition to watching the show.

It’s kind of interesting because part of the reason for the move is they are losing one of their more popular reruns, The Golden Girls, to another network soon. As I’m sure you all remember, Marc Cherry was involved in that show as well. I wonder how long it’ll be before they give him the chance to develop an original series for them.

By the way… get those VCRs set up! I just found out that Eva will be appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight at 11:35 PM. Check your local listings for stations and all. You can also see Eva at 10:30 tonight on a repeat of the George Lopez show. That airs on Nick. I do believe this is the first talk show appearance of the season for the ladies, so should be fun! Hello again, everyone. How are y’all doing today? I hope you’re all well and ready to dish, cause I know I am. Let’s talk Eva Longoria first, shall we? There are a couple reports out there about her.

First off… apparently our Gabby has a bit of a weakness for accents. She mention of a show not long ago that she’s very upset he’s been losing his French accent, replacing it with a Texas drawl. Can’t really blame the guy, can you? I mean, they do spend quite a bit of time in Corpus Christie. How can he not be picking it up? I know I picked up an accent that still comes out once in awhile after only a couple weeks in Alabama. In other Eva news…. I guess I was right about the Housewives baby boom getting to her. There’s another report out there claiming she’s trying hard to have a baby of her own. The odd part? This came from Marc Cherry, who added Eva promised he’d be the first to know. What I want to know is… why is he talking about this instead of letting Eva do all the talking on this topic? Lord knows she’s never been too shy about it.

It’s not all fun and gossip, though. Dana Delaney’s making news for other reasons. She’s announce she’s going to be part of “Stand Up to Cancer”, airing September 5th. She said she’s getting involved because several people close to her have battled the disease and she thinks it’s time we did more to end it. Good for her! I’ll be looking forward to seeing what she does during the show. Others taking part include Balthazar Getty and America Ferrera. Well, that’s all for now. Good morning, everyone!! Happy Monday. I hope everyone’s ready for another week of dishing about our favorite show… I know I am! It’s that time of year again. Time for stars and producers alike to embark on press tours to talk about what their shows have in store for the fall. The Desperate Housewives cast was no exception, taking part in the Television Critics Association Press tour on the 17th.

Marc Cherry and all the ladies were on hand to answer questions. While Cherry covered some old ground (like the show ending with season 7), there were a couple of cute moments that have been quoted out there. He and co-show-runner Bob Daily, for example, talked about finally settling on moving forward five years after being too scared to tell the ladies they’d be aging 7 years. Marcia reportedly responded with a “who cares?” He also revealed that he frumped up Gabby because he wanted to show a more realistic picture of what the average woman looks like instead of everyone being glammed up all the time.

So, there ya have it. The first major press of the season. Considering ABC recently announced they’d be making promotion for the show a priority this year, you can expect to be seeing the ladies a lot very soon, along with more details of the new season. And, of course, I’ll be there to dish about it all. Before I leave for the day, I want to share some pictures from the TCA

Good morning! After seeing a preview last night for the new season showing the gang 5 years later, I got to thinking about what the future might hold for some other current and former residents….

Betty Applewhite is still living in Chicago and ends up meeting a famous media mogul named Karen who once lived on the Lane. Once they discover this common link, they bond over how insane everyone there is and become best buddies. Betty even gets to be on TV with her as a sidekick.

After having framed Paul for her murder, Felicia is still living it up in her quiet cabin where she regularly reads papers to keep up with what’s going on on the Lane. After finding out Paul was paroled, she hires someone to track him down and, being the crazy woman she is, follows him and continues to drive him crazy from a distance. She does such a good job, he eventually gets dragged into a mental hospital ranting about the “dead” woman who is harrassing him. Felicia is finally satisfied.

Mrs. McClusky, having had enough of the Scavo kids bad behavior, quits as their babysitter and moves to a beach house in Florida. After enduring a few hurricanes, she decides the Scavo kids are a better alternative and rushes back.

Danielle decides to cash in on her mom’s newfound fame by threatening to write a tell-all book unless Bree agrees to keep her in designer clothes and jewelry. Bree enlists Karl to go and issue yet another smackdown and Danielle drops the whole thing.

Speaking of Karl… he’s still with Ms. Perfect and continues to push Susan’s buttons and make her feel like a loser. Little Maynard miraculously has survived to see his school years despite Susan’s klutziness and has already started to assume the “Julie” role.

Good morning, Housewives fans. I hope everyone’s doing well today. Since it’s still early, why don’t we start the day off with a laugh? I found these great bloopers from the season 3 DVD on youtube.

I just love those, don’t you? There’s plenty more where those came from. Check out all the seasons on DVD to get even more bloopers and other cool features. I was watching a Marc Cherry interview on one of them and was surprised to learn there is quite a bit of ad-libbing going on.

So, do you all remember the other day when I mentioned the fire that broke out at Universal? Well, there’s an update being reported at different outlets. Apparently, the fire was started accidently by workers who were using a blow torch to make some changes to one of the sets. When all seemed to be well an hour later, they took a break only to come back to a mess. Bad water pressure has also been faulted for the fact the fire went on so long.

Finally, he may not be stalking Katherine anymore, but that doesn’t mean he’s staying out of trouble. Gary Cole, who played her evil ex, has been cast in a new ABC pilot. According to the news, he’s playing a prisoner who is the head of a family of trouble makers. His stint in the big house supposedly will inspire his wife to make the rest of the family change their wicked ways. The first role I every saw Gary Cole in was as Mike Brady in the Brady Bunch movies, so these latest parts have come as a bit of a shock. I must say, though, he’s great as a villain.

Good morning, everyone! Later on today, I’ll be giving you the actor/actress of the week. For now? Let’s check it on where some of the cast has been showing up lately.

This picture of Eva and Brenda was taken on April 28th. They were Events of the Heart’s “You Gotta Have Heart” premiere in Westwood, California. It’s always a bit surprising to me to see Brenda next to the other cast members, since she’s so much taller.

How’s this for a random paring? That’s Elizabeth Berkley (yes, the chick from Saved by the Bell and Showgirls) chatting with Marcia during the Feed 100 reception at Whole Foods in LA. That took place just a few days ago, on May 19th.

Finally, Felicity Huffman was spotted at the Rogan for Target event at Barneys in Beverly Hills on May 15th. I gotta say that the filming break looks like it’s agreeing with everyone.

Andrea Bowen’s not just sitting around now that Julie’s on her way to college. Besides the album I mentioned a few posts back, she’s appearing in the play Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenaged Blockhead. It’s a twisted take on the Peanuts gang, where Andrea will be playing Charlie Brown’s sister. The show opens June 7th at Hudson Backstage Theatre in LA. She’s also considering an offer from Dancing with the Stars.

Good morning! Later on today, I’ll be dishing about Richard Burgi on Reaper, but for now… there’s plenty of news to talk about. Plus, a new promo! First off, everyone’s talking about Edie leaving Wisteria Lane and wondering if that means the end of Nicolette Sheridan on the show. Her reps aren’t talking and Marc Cherry is being a bit tight-lipped as well. The story’s so big, it even made the AP newswire. It seems to have done the ratings some good as well. The episode brought it over 15 million viewers.

Andrea Bowen is also in the news right now. I’ve read various reports saying that, like her TV parents, she has the music bug. She’s planning to record some songs over the summer. Look out, Teri and James! I’ll be looking forward to hearing what she can do.

Finally… I promised a look at the promo. I’m sad to see that the season is ending already, but at least we’re getting a two-hour episode! And what an episode it appears to be. It looks like Lynette’s in for some trouble thanks for Kayla’s phone call and Katherine appears ready to spill what’s going on with her and her family. My personal favorite moment of this promo is the housewives reaction to Susan’s choice in baby names. I have had that reaction many times myself… If you missed it, here it is:

I think I had reported on this before, but it’s “official”.  Marc Cherry, creator of “Desperate Housewives”, gave a toast to the happy couple at their wedding reception on Saturday and said, “No kids!”  This came as no surprise to the couple as Eva had been asked before by Marc to hold off on having any children for at least a year.  Why?  Where, it’s not in the grand storyline plan, after all.  They’re on a pretty tight “budget” here, with a finite number of seasons remaining to wrap up storylines and cover news ones.  A pregnancy just doesn’t fit in with the plan.  But before you feel bad for Eva and Tony, they’re completely fine with this agreement.  Apparently, they’d like to take a little time before starting a family anyhow.  Well, that’s handy!

Word is (according to Variety) that “Desperate Housewives” creator Marc Cherry wants to do a musical episode of “Desperate Housewives”.  This is a ploy that “Scrubs” has pulled off multiple times and that we saw (and loved) on the late, great “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”.  Depending on how it’s done, I think this could be a great gimmick.  But it is just that, a gimmick.  And it can’t take itself too seriously.  That’s a cardinal rule right there.  It’s not set in stone just yet, but the news is that Teri Hatcher is game and has pulled out her singing voice a time or two before.  As has Nicolette Sheridan (but isn’t she dead??). Even Felicity Huffman has rocked the vocals before (with Tina Turner, even!).  I don’t know if Eva can sing or not, but I’m going to guess that, like everything else, she’d be decent at it.  I think it has potential.  I hope they can pull it off because I’d love to see what they do with it.  How about you?

I always feel good when something I’ve previously reported on becomes fact. This time? The fact that Marc Cherry wants “Desperate Housewives” to air for seven seasons. Remember that interview? Turns out the deal is permanent now. Marc Cherry has signed a huge, eight-figure deal with ABC to work on “Desperate Housewives” for four more years. This is right in line with his vision of a seven-year span for his brainchild. The principle “Desperate Housewives” players have also signed on for four more years as well. So we have many happy years ahead of us to air the dirty laundry. Maybe by then we’ll get Gabby and Carlos back together and maybe (just maybe) Susan and Mike will finally end up together. You guys have four years, you better get to work on all that!

“Desperate Housewives” producer and show creator Marc Cherry recently sat down and did an interview with Scott Pierce of The Deseret News and I have all the juicy bits here to share with you! They talked a lot about Cherry possibly stepping back from the show to work on other projects. Good news for us, he has no plans to do anything of the sort! Cherry stepped back last year during the ill-famed season 2 and the show definitely suffered as a result. Since that debacle, he has no intention of stepping aside again. Which isn’t to say that he’ll work on the show forever, either. “I want it to run seven years. And the moment seven years is past, I will personally take down the sets,” said Cherry. That sounds to me to be definite word that “Desperate Housewives” will run seven seasons and seven seasons only. Cherry also doesn’t plan to launch right into another mega-hit after the show’s run either. “I’m only going to have one major hit. I’m only going to catch lightning in a bottle once. I wish I had the energy to develop and write at the same time, but I don’t.” His focused attentions have really paid off, since season 3 is already much, much better than season 2.

Marcia Cross’ status on the show was also discussed. Obviously, the sudden bed-rest was a bit of an issue to work around but work around they did. In the meantime, not only will James Denton be getting extra screen-time in Marcia’s absence, but so will Nicollette Sheridan. Plans are to expand her role of Edie Britt and even explore her relationship with her son, a story that was merely hinted at in the show’s pilot episode.

More than anything, Cherry sounds very humble about the show’s (and as a consequence, his) success. “I’m really proud of this season. I’m hoping next season’s even better. There’s a couple things I haven’t accomplished yet that I think we can really do. I think we can even dig deeper, so I still have goals ahead. But basically, it’s just kind of, have a humble attitude towards the success. Once you start to believe that you deserve it, I think then you’re really screwed.”
