Ratings and Casting Dish…

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

old-cast-photoHello, again!! I have some casting news to share with you (I’ll put it behind a cut for those who might not wanna know) but first, I thought I’d share some ratings news with you guys. According to the latest numbers, Housewives improved on last week’s 13.5 million by getting a total of 14.3 million for this week’s episode. Not only that, they were number one in the 18-49 demographic. No wonder they’re working out the details of bringing the show back for longer. Will it keep up? Stay tuned and find out next week. By the way…. It was just announced by the network that we’re getting a 2 hour finale this year and it will air on May 17th. It’s hard to believe the season is so close to ending. Anyway… let’s get to the casting dish, huh? (by the way- the picture is from a preview event during the show’s first season. I thought it might be nice to look back before getting into what’s coming up) (more…)

News Update

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

neal-and-ruveSo, is it just me or have things been way too quiet on the Housewives front lately? Most of the headlines about the show have been dominated by the fact Nicollette Sheridan is leaving the Lane and all the speculation that comes along with that. People are really feeling the news and not just fans of the character Nicollette plays. People on the show (like Neal) are sorry to see her go and others (Dana) are worried about their own futures.

Dana recently told Kristin from E! that they were doing some filming on the camping scene the other day. She is quoted as saying that they always worry about losing their jobs. I guess that’s a good concern, seeing as how other reports say Wysteria Lane needs to do some serious budget cutting. This means there will probably be other characters leaving as well, although probably not any major ones. All I have to say to the Housewives people is, McClusky goes nowhere. That is totally non-negotiable!

She is one of the best characters on the show and it’s been nice getting to see a bit more of her this season. I could, however, stand to see a couple Scavo kids disappear. So, who would you like to see leave? Anyone that *has* to stay? Comment and let’s chat about it. Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see y’all again tomorrow. I leave you with this link where you can see a new interview with Neal McDonough about Housewives and the whole Edie situation. Beware of spoilers.

Ratings and More

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

Good morning, everyone!! I’ll have some quotes for ya tomorrow, but let’s talk ratings for now. The show had a slight increase this week. They managed to pull in about 13.9 million viewers this week. I haven’t see the other information yet, but when it’s available I’ll let you know. Unfortunately, we don’t appear to be getting a new episode next week. There was a promo for something else last night. Hopefully, it’ll only be a one week delay. I guess we’ll see.

In some related news, there’s something else doing pretty well ratings-wise (or box office-wise to be more exact): The Friday the 23th remake. It’s number 1 right now at the box office after taking in over 43 million in it’s first weekend. It’s also expected to be one of the biggest grossing horror movies. I’ll give ya more on that as it’s released. If you remember, Richard Burgi (Karl) is in the film. He plays a sheriff and is one of Jason’s last victims in the movie. I thought he did a pretty good job. So much so, I didn’t even realize it was him at first. I’m curious to see what part he takes on next.

By the way… people are still buzzing about Nicollette leaving the show. US weekly recently posted a story about it with comments from the cast. There’s a little spoiler in there, so beware if you’re spoiler-free. You can read the whole thing here. Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see y’all next time. I leave you guys with a funny scene from the latest episode, thanks to DesperateAddicts.

Episode 5X14 Recap: Mama Spent Money When She Had None

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Hello, again! I’m here to fill you in on the latest episode of Housewives just in case you missed it. Let’s start with the Solis family. Carlos has closed some big deal at work and wants to celebrate by taking Gabby out to a really fancy restaurant. Gabby decides she wants to wear the dress she had on when he proposed for the occasion. Only one problem- she can’t exactly fit in it anymore. To fix this, she talks Edie into bringing her along for a boot camp exercise class. After just one class, Gabby wants to quit but the instructor (and the rest of the class) won’t let her. They show up on her front lawn at 6 in the morning. When Gabby won’t come out and exercise, Edie is asked to go in and convince her to join them. Surprisingly, it actually works and the instructor seems to look happy to see her come out.

The Solises aren’t the only ones with more money now. Bree’s cookbook is a huge success and she celebrates by buying a new car. Everyone but Lynette seems to be thrilled for her, leaving Bree a bit confused. When she finds out that Lynette and Tom had to sell his car because of the business not doing well, she feel bad and offers Lynette money. The only way she can get Lynette to agree to take it is by investing the money into Scavo’s and becoming a partner. To celebrate, Bree wants to hold a book signing there… something she ends up regretting when Lynette decides to cook some of Bree’s recipes.

So, as you just read, the Scavos are having money troubles and Lynette is not liking having Bree’s success in her face all the time. During the party/book signing to celebrate their new partnership, she and Bree get into a fight over the ingredients that Lynette wants to use in the pizza recipe from Bree’s book. Lynette dismisses Bree’s concerns about the quality of commercial Parmesan. When Bree later throws away the pizzas that weren’t made to her book’s specifications, Lynette gets angry and they get into a fight leading to Lynette accidently denting Bree’s new car. She wants to pay for it, but Bree refuses. Lynette insists and leaves the check… but not before telling her she doesn’t like how success has changed Bree. Bree feels bad and tears up the check after Lynette is gone. Meanwhile, Tom has been told by Lee that Dave was the one who told the cops that Porter was at the club just before the fire started (Bob had gotten access to the reports through his job and filled Lee in). Tom is, of course, furious and confronts Dave. Dave apologizes but Tom doesn’t wanna hear it. This whole thing, after all, has almost ruined their home and business.

Susan, as you might remember from the sneak peeks is desperate to get MJ into private school because the Fairview school system has gone downhill and she thinks MJ isn’t getting a good education. The good news is MJ gets in. The bad news is the tuition has gone up by a lot and Susan can’t afford it. She tries to get the money from Mike, but he says he doesn’t have it. When Susan later sees Katherine wearing a pearl necklace, she’s furious. She thinks Mike is showering Katherine with all this great stuff and ignoring MJ’s school problem. Mike sets her straight (the necklace was fake and he’s working around the clock), making Susan feel bad. She goes back to the school and talks the Head Master to give her a job there so they’ll get a tuition break.

Finally, Edie has started getting curious about Dave’s ex and asks a question, although, I’m not sure she liked his answer much. Basically, she wanted to know what the difference is between being married to her and his ex. He pretty much implies that with the ex it was like a fairytale and with Edie, he has a more realistic view (ie- nothing lasts forever). Let’s see if the questions keep up. Well, that’s about it. Take care and see you next time. I leave you with a video by Steveboy12 giving a few hints about the next new episode. Enjoy!

Promo and Info

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Hello, again!! How’s it going? Well, here we are: another week with no episodes to discuss. There will be one this Sunday, though, and here’s some info about it. I know episode descriptions are not really spoilers, but I’m gonna put it all behind a cut anyway, cause I know some people like to avoid even those. Read on if you wanna see what the next episodes about. Otherwise, here’s a couple links for ya to check out. First, here’s another promo. It was posted by Brent 0788:

Sneak a Peek…

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Good morning, everyone!! Now, we all know that there is no new episode for a couple of weeks yet. Still, that doesn’t mean you can’t get your fill of the show in the meantime. There are a couple of previews up for the next one. As always, the clips and descriptions are going behind a cut. If you wanna see it fresh when the episode debuts, why not head over here instead? For the rest of you… continue on! By the way, there will be a slight spoiler mentioned by me in here as well…

Susan and Katherine

In this clip, Susan has broken into Katherine’s home to steal a pearl necklace she was apparently given by Mike. This is because Mike refuses to pay for a private school for MJ and Susan wanted to sell it to try to get the money. Katherine seems to get over the theft awfully fast, though, and gets a little upset over Mike not wanting to pay towards the school. Apparently, Mike doesn’t change his mind on the issue because it’s been said Susan will be taking a job at the school to cover the expenses. Why she’s so dead set on Private School when Julie never went, I don’t know.

Gabby and Edie

This was my favorite one of the two. Edie has taken Gabby to a military-style workout camp to get in shape. It seems that Edie has gone there before, since she seems to know the guy very well. Gabby spends most of the episode practically gagging because she can’t handle the workout. The instructor doesn’t really care, leading to some great banter. Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see you next time.

Sneak Peak Time

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Hey, guys! How’s it going? I’m doing alright today and excited to share some sneak peaks with you guys that I saw were posted on youtube last night. They’re for the hundreth episode and show a little flashback action. If you don’t wanna know anything, you might wanna head on over here instead for today and I’ll see you again tomorrow. If you don’t mind getting a bit spoiled, read on…

There are two sneak peaks out there so far. The first one I am going to post features Edie, her ex-husband and Eli (ya know, the handyman who dies in this episode and everyone reflects on their interactions with him). Edie and her husband are arguing because she wants sex and he doesn’t because he thinks she’s got an out of control libido. He storms off, and Eli walks out of the bathroom… she’d forgotten he was there. Edie, feeling all unattractive, asks him to rate body parts to make sure the problem is not her. He assures her there is nothing wrong with her.

The next one is my favorite of the two! It features Lynette and Tom. Lynette’s on the phone trying to close a deal on a new job when Tom walks out and notices water all over the floor. He asks her what’s going on and she tells him her water broke. This leads to Tom trying to get her off the phone while Lynette continues to talk. She gets the job and hangs up, Tom making a comment that is definitely going to be in my favorite quotes for the week. You’ll see what I mean.

That’s about all for now. Take care and I’ll see you again tomorrow with more news, reviews and other cool stuff.

Gale Update and Spoilers…

Friday, January 9th, 2009

Good morning, everyone!! And Happy Friday. I don’t know about you all, but I’m sure ready for the weekend. Still, we have a little more dishing to do and I think it’s gonna make Gale Harold fans happy. I’m sure you all remember that I had mentioned before he’s expected to return to the show soon. Well, it sort of happened already. If you saw last week’s episode, you know that his voice was heard telling Susan all about this place he was staying and how he wanted her to join him. Apparently, when he recorded that, he was actually on the set.

People behind the scenes have talked and told TV Guide that they were thrilled to see him and that he’s looking good after his accident. At question still is when exactly he’ll be seen on screen again. They’re working out details as we speak and they promise it’s supposed to be real soon. Good luck to them and Gale- he’s got a lot of fans out there that miss him. By the way- that picture is an old one from a few years back I just had to share.

The Big 1-0-0.

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Good morning everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend and you’re ready to get back to dishing. I just saw that the description for the hundredth episode is out and I wanna share it with you. Just in case you won’t want to know what’s going to happen that week (it airs January 18th), I’ll put the description and my comments behind a cut. Gabby’s Frumpy, But Eva Goes Glam

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Apparently, Eva Longoria-Parker is not letting Gabrielle Solis’ more low-key situation cramp her own style. Allure magazine recently held a party in her honor at her restaurant, Beso, and the guest list was anything but typical. Supermodels like Heidi Klum mingled with her own Housewives co-stars during the event. Of course, Victoria Beckham was also there. Y’all might remember several accounts of those two hanging out together from earlier posts on this blog.

The event was in honor of Eva, but it wasn’t all singing her praises. Felicity Huffman got up and teased Eva about her drinking habits, joking that she hoped they could “keep her off the sauce” for the night. Gotta love a good roast, huh? They also shared some well wishes for co-star Gale Harold, adding that he’s on the mend and they hope to see him back real soon. So do I. He’s awesome and makes me like Susan just a little. Kyle MacLachlan also had some news to share: he’s going to have his own wine! It’ll be called Pursued by Bear. As soon as more information comes out about it, I’ll pass it along.

And finally… here’s a little spoilery information from the event. Don’t go any further if you don’t want to know! If you’re tuning out now, see ya next time! I hope you’ll check out one of the other blogs around here before you sign off the network. (more…)

A Little Sneak Peak…

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Hello, everyone!! Well, last week no preview clips were released until the last minute and none were on youtube. So far, there has been one preview released for this week’s. You can check it out below. If you’re not looking to get spoiled at all, you might wanna skip the rest of this post… may I suggest these blogs instead? (more…)

Podcast Dish

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Good morning, everyone. So, how are y’all doing today? Ready for the weekend and a new housewives episode? Yeah, that’s what I thought. Normally, I’d bring you some sneak peaks today but that’s not going to happen this time because there’s none posted out there that I have seen today. Maybe we’ll get some tomorrow. For now, though, I wanna share something else with you: A pod cast.

Marc Cherry’s been doing these pretty much all season and today is the first time I sat and listened to one. Not bad. He basically discusses what happened last week and talks about what we can expect for the new episode. Here’s the clip (just beware if you’re spoiler-free):
