Desperate Housewives Out and About

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

Good morning, everyone! Later on today, I’ll be giving you the actor/actress of the week. For now? Let’s check it on where some of the cast has been showing up lately.

brenda-and-eva.jpg

This picture of Eva and Brenda was taken on April 28th. They were Events of the Heart’s “You Gotta Have Heart” premiere in Westwood, California. It’s always a bit surprising to me to see Brenda next to the other cast members, since she’s so much taller.

marcia-and-elizabeth.jpg How’s this for a random paring? That’s Elizabeth Berkley (yes, the chick from Saved by the Bell and Showgirls) chatting with Marcia during the Feed 100 reception at Whole Foods in LA. That took place just a few days ago, on May 19th.

Finally, Felicity Huffman was spotted at the Rogan for Target event at Barneys in Beverly Hills on May 15th. I gotta say that the filming break looks like it’s agreeing with everyone.

Andrea Bowen’s not just sitting around now that Julie’s on her way to college. Besides the album I mentioned a few posts back, she’s appearing in the play Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenaged Blockhead. It’s a twisted take on the Peanuts gang, where Andrea will be playing Charlie Brown’s sister. The show opens June 7th at Hudson Backstage Theatre in LA. She’s also considering an offer from Dancing with the Stars.

Are you fearless about spoilers and wanna hear some gossip about next season? Well, read on. (more…)

What’s coming up on Sunday

episode 405 sneak peekI’ve got another peek at what’s coming up on Sunday’s episode for you all again. And this one looks like a good one, with another visit from our favorite gardener, John. John is played by the fabulous Jesse Metcalfe, of course and has been greatly missed since he departed the show in the second season. You may recognize this week’s sneak peek from the promo that aired directly after last week’s show. If not, then you have a treat coming your way as this episode looks to be good and juicy.

First, like I said, John is back and wants to start things up with Gaby again. What will Carlos think of that? And what will Gaby’s reaction be? And who is that blond girl in the picture up there with John? Is that his girlfriend? Inquiring minds want to know!

Also, we’ll see the return of Danielle this week, I’m supposing at the hands of her grandmother, Phyllis. She’s listed on the roster of guest stars so I’m guessing Phyllis does bring little Dani back to Wisteria Lane. How will Bree and Orson hide her little… ahem, development?

As we noticed last week, Edie is on to Carlos and Gaby and this week, she becomes yet more aware of their little fling. What will her reaction be? Does she have anything to do with John’s renewed interest in Gaby?

In “new neighbor news”, Bob and Lee (so that’s his name!) have put up a water feature in their front yard and the residents don’t care for it one bit. In fact, the fountain causes quite a stir in the neighborhood. What lengths will be gone to, you have to wonder. If Susan is involved, everyone keep their dog and cat indoors!

Anyhow, watch the little promo below and tune in Sunday night to see all the juicy developments!

A look at what’s coming up

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Episode 404Not only do I have some goodies about what to expect on Sunday’s show, but I have some spoilers for the weeks ahead as well. If you don’t want to be spoiled, I suggest you refrain from reading any further. If you don’t mind finding out some juicy tidbits a little early, by all means, read on.

Sunday’s show is titled “If There’s Anything I Can’t Stand”. That certainly sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? We get to see the long-awaited introduction of the “gay neighbors” we’ve been hearing about for so long. There’s a promo for the episode just below so you can see some of the juiciness for yourself.

Also, expect for someone to discover Bree’s little secret. Will they spill the beans?

Further down the line, Wisteria Lane doesn’t care for their new neighbors’ water sculpture. Edie discovers Carlos and Gaby’s affair; what will she do about it? Also, John the gardener is back and he wants to start things up with Gaby… again! Carlos walks out on Edie, FINALLY, while Susan discovers Mike’s father, whom she thought was dead. Expect to see an unexpected delivery at a Halloween party… why do I have a feeling they mean an ACTUAL delivery? Is Danielle returning to the neighborhood? Then, Tom gets in too deep with some woman named Sylvia and in a “Fatal Attraction” sort of fashion, she blows it out of proportion. And I’m thinking it’s in episode 9 that we’ll see a tornado threaten Wisteria Lane. Expect to see some casualties. The latest word I hear is that we can expect two characters to die in the twister. Sounds exciting!

That should take us clear up to December, nearly to the winter haitus. What are you thinking of this season so far? I’ve heard some very favorable reviews, it seems a lot of critics think “Desperate Housewives” is finally getting back to it’s hilarious roots. I don’t know about that, but I’ve been enjoying it so far.

What’s coming up Sunday

Friday, October 12th, 2007

Episode 403 previewIt’s been a weird news week for “Desperate Housewives”. Much of the news out there has been about the Filipino med school “joke” in the premiere episode and the resulting furor. It’s been hard to find new news to dish up to you, so I apologize for that. But today, I have something fun for you all to enjoy. It’s a sneak peek at Sunday’s episode, showing us a juicy scene or two from the show.

Most importantly, we’ve got Edie flashing her engagement ring right in front of Gaby. Is there no end to her stinker-ness? Gaby is predictably annoyed and confronts Carlos who says he never got her a ring, but doesn’t deny the engagement. It looks as though this is all during a party, perhaps being held at Bree’s house (though I couldn’t tell for sure, all those houses look the same to me). For some reason, Susan was dressed far more casually than everyone else and had urgent business with Bree that we didn’t get to see the result of. I’ve read a press release that indicates that this is a charades party that Susan has thrown for the entire neighborhood (in which case, that would make it Susan’s house wouldn’t it?), but then why is everyone else so dressed up? But this would explain why the episode is titled, “The Game”.

As with all sneak peeks and promos, this particular snatch of video has only served to whet my appetite concerning Sunday’s episode. I only want to watch the episode more, to see what all happens. But I’m sure that was their plan in the first place when they released it, right? Watch for yourself and see what you think. Are you just not dying for Sunday’s show or what?

Teri Hatcher discusses season 4

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Teri HatcherI would say something like “let the hype begin!” but it’s been going on for weeks now! This is just yet another instance of publicity for “Desperate Housewives” and the new season starting September 30. At a recent press “shindig” for ABC’s fall lineup, Teri Hatcher was cornered by Hollywood.com (care of The New York Post) and asked to dish the dirt on the upcoming season. What followed was a brief but revealing interview where Hatcher divulged some news from the set. If you’d like to see it, I highly recommend clicking over to check it out. But in the meantime, here’s a taste of what she had to say:

HW: Nathan Fillion plays a gynecologist, so what was your first scene with him?

TH: It was a great scene. Often you’ll hear actors saying that the oddity of you might meet someone, “”Hi, nice to meet you”" and then the next thing you know you’re doing a kissing scene. Ours was, “”Hi, nice to meet you – now my feet are going to be on the stirrups and you need to pretend like you’re doing some sort of exam nobody wants to talk about.”" That’s pretty welcoming. “Hey, welcome to Desperate Housewives.” It was funny. Those were the kind of jokes that were going on.

HW: Were you wearing boxers underneath?

TH: I wore plenty to be a lady.

Intriguing, no?

 Desperate Housewives

What do you think of the new promo pic from ABC for season 4 of “Desperate Housewives”?  It’s cleverly matched with the catch-phrase: “It’s a hell of a day in the neighborhood.”  Looks “spicy”, no?  Not to mentioned airbrushed to heck and back but who’s keeping track, right?

Also, here are some great sneak peaks at the Buddy TV website for “Desperate Housewives”:

  • We’ll see an amazing appearance from Edie Brit in the first episode and word is Nicolette Sheridan isn’t going anywhere this season, despite the apparent suicide at the end of last season!
  • Susan Mayer will not slip so silently into domestic bliss as we might have hoped.  But would we expect her to?
  • Expect Gaby and Carlos’ steamy affair to continue!

Would you like to see more?  Check out the article and read for yourself!  Or you could just wait the couple of weeks until the season starts.  Sounds like it’ll be a good one, doesn’t it?

Season 4 of “Desperate Housewives” sneak peaks!

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

I’m very sorry for the lack of posts the last day or so and the sporadic loading of this site. Apparently there have been some server issues that are out of 451Press.com’s control. Looks like everything is starting to work again so that’s a very good thing! I hope I’m able to get this post up before things go bad again! Again, very sorry and thanks for your patience!

TV Squad posted a fabulous article today about the fourth season of “Desperate Housewives” (which will commence on September 30th on ABC). It gives some awesome spoilers and hints at upcoming storylines as well as some speculation and rumors. Plus, I guess I had sort of forgotten where we left off last season. For instance, I’d completely forgotten somehow that Gaby and Carlos had hooked up after her wedding near the end of the show. How could I forget that?? Anyhow, I heartily recommend reading if you’re interested in some clues or rumors about what might be in store for us this season. Be aware that spoilers are involved so if you’d rather be surprised, maybe reading isn’t for you.

The Desperate Drought

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Gabby, Lynette and SusanAre any of the rest of you out there as sick of this mini-hiatus as I am? It feels like we haven’t had a new episode in about a month (though I know its only been a couple weeks). And guess what? Next week, while it isn’t exactly a repeat, is a clip show. Ugh, I’m so sick of those clip shows. I keep feeling like they’re trying to pass them off as a real episode when they so totally aren’t. But the good news is that next week is a clip show in order to catch us all up for the new episode that will be airing on April 8th. So there is hope on the horizon. And what are the spoilers, you ask? (see, I knew you were asking) Well, I shall reveal some of the juicy details after the jump. Don’t continue reading if you don’t want to know!

Boom, no new episodes for two weeks! That’s just cruel! So, in an effort to tide us “Desperate” fans over in the meantime, I’ve hunted down some juicy spoilers for us to enjoy. If you don’t wan to be spoiled, then don’t click the “read more” link below. If you are interested to see what’s coming up, come with me and let’s dish!

The return of Rex?

Friday, December 15th, 2006

Fans of Rex Van De Kamp and Steven Culp (the actor who plays him) will be pleased! Apparently, Rex will be the narrator of an upcoming episode that will focus on the men (oh the men!) of Wisteria Lane. Will we maybe see a new scene or two with him? Even as a flashback? For those who need a little reminding, Rex is the dead husband of Bree. He was poisoned by nutcase pharmacist George Williams back at the end of season 1. I’d love to see new stuff with Rex, or even just hear his perspective on some things. Should be a good one!
