Teri Hatcher thought she had simply misplaced her ATM card. So when she called up the bank to cancel the card and see about getting issued another, she was told that someone had been using the heck out of it. Talk about a shock!

“I called to cancel it and was actually stolen… I don’t use it much, so they had rung up $12,000. They did 90 different transactions and I know that because for every single fraud thing you have to sign out a whole slip that says, ‘No, I wasn’t at Joe’s Diner, spending $20 on chilli.’ There were a lot of trips to Albertsons in the Valley, Vons, Longs Drugs, lots of little purchases. I think that’s probably how they get away with it. It dawned on me as I was doing this that in 90 times of them giving the card, nobody ever went, ‘Teri Hatcher…’ I was really kinda freaked out that that could happen.”

I can see how that would happen with an ATM card, since no one really looks at those for signatures or even if you’re the name on the card. A debit card would have been another story (and probably why I vastly prefer my check card to my ATM card). Still, this is a huge bummer for Teri and I imagine has been quite a headache to deal with.

For those of you wondering if wedding bells are in Mike and Susan’s future, wonder no longer! It’s a go! But don’t expect a big, fancy church wedding with an extravagant dress. Susan and Mike chose to go the understated route with a small, simple outdoors wedding. Though Teri was a touch disappointed when she found out she wouldn’t be wearing a fantastic dress. She wanted an elaborate wedding for Susan, but knew that it wouldn’t have made much sense. Still, I think the dress she chose was fabulous in and of itself. And a sweet, outdoor ceremony fits Mike and Susan like a glove. But has all this wedding fever on “Desperate Housewives” made Teri Hatcher want a wedding of her own with boyfriend Stephen Kay? Teri plays coy with the interviewer before changing the subject. Having said before that she would not like to get married again, I am doubtful she would change her mind. But stranger things have happened.

What’s ahead for these star-crossed lovers? Mike Delfino will be getting a troubled younger brother at the start of the next season and there are rumors of a pregnancy for Susan. Teri, however, would like to concentrate a little on Susan and Mike’s sex life. She points out that Eva and Nicolette and Marcia have all had fabulous sex scenes and that’s something Susan and Mike haven’t had yet. (On screen, at least) We’ll see, but this seems a fitting end to the third season of “Desperate Housewives”. With three weddings, it’s been a wedding-centric season to be sure!

Felicity Huffman threw co-star and pal Eva Longoria a bridal shower at her Los Angeles home this past Sunday, inviting a huge amount of friends and family, including her other “Desperate Housewives” costars, Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Brenda Strong and Nicolette Sheridan. All accounts show that the party was quite a success. At one point, Eva presided as judge over a competition where unmarried guests made wedding gowns out of toilet paper. Teri Hatcher won the grand prize, a tissue tiara. The theme was “Home”, obviously, as little pink houses served as centerpieces for the tables and Felicity requested that guests bring gifts for each room of their new home together. Felicity joked that she didn’t need to give a gift since she was the one throwing the shower. Uh, don’t think it works that way, Felicity.

It’s a slow news day in “Desperate Housewives” land. We’re all gearing up and getting excited for the NEW episode on Sunday. And, can I say, it’s about time? Can I get an “Amen!”? Anyhow, here are some great pictures of some of our favorite “Housewives” from this week. The other ‘Wives haven’t been out much in the last week or so, unfortunately. I’m still waiting for a good look at Marcia’s new twins! Each time I’ve seen images of her out and about lately she looks fantastic.

Check out this picture of Teri Hatcher, circa October of 2006 at the 2006 World Women’s Awards, on the red carpet with Claudia Schiffer. Pretty emaciated, right? We’ve all heard the tabloid stories about super-skinny celebrities and Teri Hatcher has often been included in with that group. Many speculations have been made regarding eating disorders and the like. But mostly everyone has just hoped the girl would go find a cheeseburger somewhere and make herself happy again. And? It looks like she has.

Just look how happy she looks with her beau, Stephen Kay, at the recent 6th Annual Comedy for a Cure event. And she looks healthy too. The girl looks downright beautiful. So good for her.

Also, FWIW, I first saw these pics and heard about her new healthier look on Mamapop, and if you aren’t reading that site then you’re totally missing out.

Teri Hatcher isn’t above golfing for charity. She and some other “Desperate Housewives” cast and crewmembers came out on Sunday to play some golf and raise money for the Casa Pacifica children’s charity. Turns out, the only castmember with any decent amount of golf experience is Dougray Scott who grew up in Scotland (the birthplace of golf) and has been playing since he was six. The rest pretty much stank up the joint. But at least they raised boucoup bucks in the process. Each of the tournament players donated anywhere from a couple hundred to a couple thousand dollars to join in the fun. And it sounds like they did have a lot of fun.

Ricardo Antonio Chavira (Carlos) played golf for the first time only two days before the tournament. Still, he enjoyed some friendly competition with John Slattery, who plays his romantic rival on the show. As far as the game, Chavira insisted, “I’m going to kick his (butt).” Just a few hours into the tournament, though, Chavira had hit two houses near the course.

ExtraTV, the television entertainment magazine program, revealed last night some footage from the set of “Desperate Housewives” where Teri Hatcher was involved in a stunt that took a turn for the worse, quite literally! For the scene, Teri Hatcher’s Susan Mayer was supposed to into the lake in her car and be rescued by James Denton’s Mike Defino. But the car flipped over in the water, putting quite the wrinkle in the filming. Teri knew they couldn’t reshoot the scene so she decided to just go with it.

“We were upside down and sinking in the car,� she revealed. “Re-shooting wasn’t an option and I went, ‘I know, I know. Why don’t we shoot the scene with the two of us hanging outside of the car?’�

Glad to hear it all went well and no one was injured. On another note, sounds as if it might not be curtains after all for Mike and Susan. We can only hope!

Teri Hatcher is getting older. Though, I don’t think she has much to worry about, because she looks fantastic. I can only hope that when I’m 42 that I’ll look as youthful and hip as she does. That said, Teri is still aware of what happens in Hollywood when actresses reach a “certain age”. And instead of moaning about it, she’s decided to do something proactive. The actress has recently developed her own television show.

She says, “I’ve just sold my first TV show to a network. It’s a comedy and it may never make it to air but it’s exciting to be behind the camera. I’m trying to build a business that will allow me not to be in front of the camera because, you know, I’m old!”

Good for her. While I think she undervalues her attraction in front of the camera, it’s nice to see her branching out and trying new things. I wish her the best of luck.

This is a rather unlikely pairing, wouldn’t you say? Apparently, former president George Bush Sr. met Teri Hatcher three years ago at a dinner party hosted by hotelier Steven Wynn and hit it off. The two have been friends ever since, and even trade emails with one another, sharing their respective news. They were recently spotted in Los Angeles, enjoying a lunch date together. The two exited the restaurant (as you can see to the left) looking comfortable with one another and, well, happy. The former president even gifted Teri with a friendly pat on the butt, apparently. Yes, it would appear that they are that good of friends. Now, I would never have picked these two as friends out of a lineup, but it’s cute. Of course, this makes my mind wander and wonder to itself, “Does this mean Teri Hatcher is a Republican?”

Has she or hasn’t she? That’s the question, isn’t it? Rumors are running rampant on the internet that Teri Hatcher has had Botox and/or Restylane and she says that those rumors simply aren’t true. “I don’t use Botox or Restylane and I’ve never had any surgery, no matter what you’ve read,” she told the British edition of Glamour magazine recently for it’s March issue. In fact, she knows all the rumors about her that are circulating around the internet, and they drive her nuts. “[My friend] keeps threatening to put these computer child locks on my computer so I can’t torture myself. It hurts, you know?” It has to be rough, to be placed under that kind of a microscope, where your every action and appearance is analyzed. I can see where the rumors have come from. For being 42, Teri looks pretty darned good. In fact, if I can look half as good at the same age, I’ll consider myself very, very blessed. Botox or not, it’s not really any of our business. But I suppose there’s nothing to stop us from speculating, either.

Our girls didn’t bring home any awards last night, but it didn’t prevent them from looking (mostly) fabulous in the process. Take Teri Hatcher for example. She looked absolutely stunning in her dress. Following the “white trend” from the Golden Globes, she went big-time glam and Old Hollywood and looked fantastic doing it.

Felicity Huffman, on the other hand, didn’t look as fabulous as I know she can. She almost looked, dare I say it, a little frumpy in her knee-length black dress. I just don’t think it was that great a style on her.

Eva Longoria, also, didn’t look that great in her dark grey gown. A very pretty dress, it might have looked better on someone a little taller as the folds of fabric just seemed to envelope poor Eva and make her look even shorter.

Brenda Strong was there and she looked really great in the same color. I did find there was something distracting about the neckline on her dress. It didn’t seem to match too well with the rest of the dress. But she’s a tall lady and was able to pull off the “pillar” look very well, overall.

Nicollette Sheridan was also there and looked about as you’d expect her to: Amazing. Michael Bolton must be a proud man. She also chose a lighter color, like Teri, but hers was more neutral in color. The neckline almost reminded me of something you’d find in the lingerie department. Combined with her sultry hairstyle, she looked very sexy.

Lastly, we have Andrea Bowen, who plays Teri Hatcher’s daughter Julie on the show. Wow, she’s growing up, isn’t she? She chose a coppery gown that complimented her skin and hair so nicely. She looked pretty fantastic as well, I thought. I almost didn’t recognize her when I first saw her.

Fashion “don’t’s” aside, all the ladies looked far better than I ever do even on my best of days. I’m sorry they didn’t win (and Felicity was ROBBED! Sorry, America Ferrera.), but I enjoyed watching the glamor. I just love awards season.

It seems like it was only days ago that I reported Teri Hatcher as saying she never wanted to get married again. And also that “it would take a lot before [she] would want to bring a man into [her] daughter’s life.” Wait, it was just days ago! At any rate, Teri Hatcher is now shouting to the rooftops that she is in love with film director Stephen Kay. At the Golden Globes on Monday, she told “Extra”, “I’m not single anymore. I’m totally in love and it’s fabulous.” Interestingly enough? Kay formerly dated Teri’s co-star, Eva Longoria before she ultimately hooked up with Tony Parker. It’s a small world, isn’t it?

While I’m happy she’s found some happiness for herself, I have to wonder what happened to her assertion that she would like to remain single. I’m not saying she’s going to marry Stephen Kay, but it definitely sounds like a big-time relationship and that doesn’t necessarily mean keeping men out of her daughter’s life, no?

There’s been a lot going on for the ‘Wives this week. So much, that I couldn’t pick which story to bring to you so I’m going to bring you a little bit of everything instead.

• Teri Hatcher has revealed to The Post Chronicle that, “I don’t think I’ll ever get married again. I totally believe in monogamy. I am not a dater.” Why the bold proclamation? “I need to be safe and trusting and do not believe in rotating men through the house. It would take a lot before I would want to bring a man into my daughter’s life.” Hatcher is concerned with providing a stable home for her nine year old daughter, Emmerson. She doesn’t believe that jumping from relationship to relationship would be good for her daughter. She would rather focus on her daughter than search for another husband. Wow! That’s a dedicated mom!
• In other Hatcher news: She and her daughter turned the tables on the paparazzi. While out and about with Emmerson yesterday in Los Angeles, she helped her daughter snap a picture of one of the photographers. I think that’s pretty adorable.
• Marcia Cross is starting to wonder what the heck she’s going to wear to the Golden Globes awards show on January 15. As you may well know, she’s pregnant with twins and due this spring. There aren’t a lot of fashion options open to her at this time. She says, “I’m going to the show if I can waddle out of the house. I don’t know what kind of tent they are going to put me in. I’m thinking black or navy. It’s not going to be a high-fashion year for me. And I’m thinking barefoot. I deserve it!” I think she’s totally right. I’m sure she’ll be gorgeous no matter what she puts on.
• Eva Longoria has been announced as the new face of Bebe Sports. This is the first major advertising campaign for Bebe Sport, a division of the Bebe ladies wear brand. Bebe CEO Greg Scott has said, “She is dedicated to fitness, has a great sense of style and we are looking forward to her valuable input into our Bebe Sport product.” Sounds like more exposure for Eva!

Tis the season to be making resolutions about losing weight. All you have to do is walk through your nearest department store to see all the fitness equipment on sale to realize that getting fit is a huge deal after those indulgent holidays. And, to no one’s surprise, being fit is something Teri Hatcher has in spades. She’s often been the subject of speculation about her weight, being one of the ultra-thin celebrity women out there. But according to her, she really doesn’t do anything special to keep her weight down. In fact, she shuns the gym like the plague.

According to an interview with new! magazine (as reported by Yahoo! News UK), “A lot of people do all kinds of nutty diets and weird things, but I believe in moderation. I can have pizza and pie and a glass of red wine - just not every day. I wouldn’t want to.” That might just make too much sense, I’m thinking. About the gym, she says, “I can’t stand going to the gym. It’s too formatted and it freaks me out with all the germs. I hike outside. I lift weights in my house, just not at a gym.” Now, I don’t go to the gym because I’m too lazy, too cheap, etc and so forth. So I think her answer is much better than mine.

Regardless of how she does it, Teri has a figure that all of us would love to have.
