So, usually I pick a favorite actress for the week. Someone who really stood out and stole the show. I couldn’t do that this time, because one scene stuck out to me instead. It was the last scene between Gabby and Lynette.
One of the best things about this show is usually the friendships between the housewives. They get tested a lot, but in the end they always manage to get past whatever happened. I mean, come on… they forgave Edie didn’t they? That’s what I loved that last scene. Gabby and Lynette both had both been used by the other and they were angry about it. Still, it seemed like they really understood what each one was going through and are willing to overlook it all and not let it mess up the friendship they have.
The situations they’re finding themselves in are tough and each one seems to understand that. What made the scene even better is I don’t remember Gabby and Lynette really having scenes like that before. The actresses and characters play off each other well and I say give them more scenes together without the rest of the gang. I also think it was pretty amusing how Gabby is able to tell Lynette is bluffing. I’m a little disappointed though… I would’ve thought Lynette would have a much better poker face than that.
So what do you guys think? Am I right in my pick? Would you have chosen someone else instead? Comment and let me know! I’ll leave you guys with a youtube clip of them in action, thanks to coll DHfan. Take care and see y’all next time.
Ok, maybe that was a bit over dramatic, but still…
I may have mentioned in a post a little bit back that my guy’s a huge Friday the 13th fan. So, when Valentine’s Day came around I took him to go see the brand new one and was surprised to see that Richard Burgi was in it. He’s not the only one from the cast who’s starred in one of these movies, though. Steven Culp was also in a Friday movie and I, unfortunately, just got to see it first hand. I thought I’d talk a little about it for people who haven’t seen it.
The movie is Jason Goes to Hell and is, in my opinion, the worst of the whole series. Basically, this movie took it from being a pretty reality-based series and brought in a bunch of mystical mumbo-jumbo about curses and how Jason can only be killed by a Voorhees and all this other weird stuff. Did I mention there’s apparently a little insect-like thing in Jason that is being transferred from character to character, making others Jason in the movie? Yeah, I’m scratching my head, too.
Steven plays a kinda creepy character who is an anchor on one of those news magazine shows, similar to Inside Edition. Word on the street is that the FBI managed to take out Jason for good, but he doesn’t believe it and he is making it some big mission to expose that he’s still alive and committing murders. He ends up getting possessed by Jason’s spirit and goes on a killing spree himself. Unfortunately, seeing him was about the most entertaining part of the whole experience. He does play a great jerk. As a Nightmare on Elm Street fan, I also liked how Freddy’s hand came up from underground and dragged Jason’s mask down. If you’re a big fan of Steven, I’d borrow the movie from a library or something and skip to any parts that feature him. Here’s a really brief clip of Steven being Jason. Be warned- it is a kill video. Take care and I’ll see y’all next time.
Since the next new episode is still a week away, I thought I’d share some more Q&A interviews posted online. It’s “Ask Desperate Housewives”. The first video is posted by desperate videos and features Marc and Felicity Huffman.
Don’t worry about spoilers, cause you’re not going to find any in this one. Basically, they’re just asking a lot of general question of them in this one. He introduces her as the ‟magnificent‟ Felicity Huffman. They talk about whether or not either of them feel jealousy about other plots, why Dr. Heller has not been identified yet, extending the show by two years as well as what goes into making the show each week. My favorite part is where Felicity is asked what she’d like to see happen with Lynette. She says she’s not that smart and admits that she has not thought about that at all- she just lets the writers do their thing.
This second video comes to us from wreckcentered and is an older Q&A with Marc (as always) and Kevin Rahm (Lee). This was, hands down, my favorite of the two videos. They talk about who Lee (and Kevin) fears most, whether or not March will make a cameo on the show and where Marc gets his ideas. He admits that he is not invited to parties very often because people are scared he’ll put their lives into the show. Kevin and Marc also talk about how Kevin managed to get cast on the show, which is my second favorite moment in the video. Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and see y’all next time.
Hey, everyone! Sorry for the delay. Check my other blog for an explanation as well as a couple cute spoofs if you’re a 24 fan. Anyway… I have a bit of news to share regarding Gale Harold. If you don’t wanna find out, go no further! (more…)
So, is it just me or have things been way too quiet on the Housewives front lately? Most of the headlines about the show have been dominated by the fact Nicollette Sheridan is leaving the Lane and all the speculation that comes along with that. People are really feeling the news and not just fans of the character Nicollette plays. People on the show (like Neal) are sorry to see her go and others (Dana) are worried about their own futures.
Dana recently told Kristin from E! that they were doing some filming on the camping scene the other day. She is quoted as saying that they always worry about losing their jobs. I guess that’s a good concern, seeing as how other reports say Wysteria Lane needs to do some serious budget cutting. This means there will probably be other characters leaving as well, although probably not any major ones. All I have to say to the Housewives people is, McClusky goes nowhere. That is totally non-negotiable!
She is one of the best characters on the show and it’s been nice getting to see a bit more of her this season. I could, however, stand to see a couple Scavo kids disappear. So, who would you like to see leave? Anyone that *has* to stay? Comment and let’s chat about it. Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see y’all again tomorrow. I leave you with this link where you can see a new interview with Neal McDonough about Housewives and the whole Edie situation. Beware of spoilers.
Hello, everyone. Well, we’re apparently not getting any new episodes until the 8th, so I went looking around youtube and found a cool video. It’s a behind the scenes interview with Marc Cherry and Dana Delany that was posted by DHCentral. There’s no real spoilers in it, so it’s safe to watch for anyone avoiding them. Check it out:
For anyone who may not be able to watch, I’ll give you a little recap of what they talked about. One of the questions talked about her auditioning for Bree. Yeah, I know… old news. Still, they mentioned a few things I hadn’t heard before with that. Apparently, she broke Marc’s heart because she came in to audition and then decided to turn down the part later. He tried several times to get her back before she agreed to come on the show as Katherine. They also talked a plan he’s thinking about for next year that would involve going back in time and what are the easiest kinds of scenes to play (they say being ruthless and making quips are the easiest). He also talks about where he came up with some of the names and someone else he wanted on the show.
One of my favorite parts is when a fan asks Dana what resident she’d like to have an affair with. You have to see the look on Marc’s face when she says Bree to really appreciate his reaction. It’s priceless. I was also surprised to learn that he was once Dixie Carter’s (who went on to play a role on Housewives) assistant. Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see ya next time.
Hello, out there! How’s it going? I’m doing pretty good… and I’ve got some good news to share with people who are Neal McDonough fans. He’s starring in a movie called ‘Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li’. Kristin Kreuk from Smallville plays the lead part of the movie, which is based on a series of video games similar to Mortal Kombat.
Neal will be playing the part is Bison. He’s described as a boss and antagonist who is bent of world domination. It’s funn how Neal keeps getting these bad guy roles, huh? Ah well… he plays them well! He’s also the head of a crime syndicate called Shadaloo and hosts the tournament the game is named after. He was first introduced in the second game.
I was browsing on youtube and came across a promo for the movie. I actually really liked the trailor. I’m not usually much for action/game movies like this, but the trailor made me think this is gonna be a good movie. You see Neal a few times briefly in it. Instead of the usual costume for the character, they’ve got him wearing a business suit. I think he’s looking pretty good. Check it out for yourself, thanks to CinemaZone:
So, what do you think? Does the promo look good? Are you a fan who’s annoyed at the change in costume? Be sure to comment and let me know. The movie is supposed to open of February 27, 2009. Well, that’s it for now. Take care and I’ll see you next time.
Hello, again! I promised, so now I’m delivering. Here are some of my favorite quotes from this week’s episode. Feel free to share your own!
Tom (about the employees laughing after he gives a big speech about how he’s not giving up): Please tell me they just saw a customer…
Orson (trying to get into Bree’s account without the password): How about her real hair color? Trust me, it’s not what you think it is.
Parker (after Tom informs them they will be working at Scavos): At the risk of sounding spoiled, no.
Penny (objecting to the plan as well): I’m 9! Is that even legal?
Tom: I think it is. Just in case, you’re now 15. Happy birthday!!
Tom: You said you were behind me 100%!
Lynette: Really? That doesn’t sound like me.
Porter: Just so you know, years from now when you’re old and brittle…
Lynettte: Yeah, you’re putting us in the cheapest nursing home you can find. I got it.
Jewler (after Gabby asks if he can work with her on the price of her bracelet): What did you have in mind?
Gabby: You give it to me and then call your insurance and say it was stolen?
Bree: I’m preparing a meal for 200, I don’t have time to explore my hypothetical career in the adult film industry.
Orson (objecting to Andrew’s salary): But I’m your husband!
Bree: Yes, we’re all aware of how you got the job.
Carlos: Oh, my God, that’s illegal! I’m getting a bonus no one else is getting based on blackmail??
Gabby: You’re welcome.
Well, that’s it for now. I leave you with a podcast posted by Desperate000. Enjoy!
Hello, again! I’m here to fill you in on the latest episode of Housewives just in case you missed it. Let’s start with the Solis family. Carlos has closed some big deal at work and wants to celebrate by taking Gabby out to a really fancy restaurant. Gabby decides she wants to wear the dress she had on when he proposed for the occasion. Only one problem- she can’t exactly fit in it anymore. To fix this, she talks Edie into bringing her along for a boot camp exercise class. After just one class, Gabby wants to quit but the instructor (and the rest of the class) won’t let her. They show up on her front lawn at 6 in the morning. When Gabby won’t come out and exercise, Edie is asked to go in and convince her to join them. Surprisingly, it actually works and the instructor seems to look happy to see her come out.
The Solises aren’t the only ones with more money now. Bree’s cookbook is a huge success and she celebrates by buying a new car. Everyone but Lynette seems to be thrilled for her, leaving Bree a bit confused. When she finds out that Lynette and Tom had to sell his car because of the business not doing well, she feel bad and offers Lynette money. The only way she can get Lynette to agree to take it is by investing the money into Scavo’s and becoming a partner. To celebrate, Bree wants to hold a book signing there… something she ends up regretting when Lynette decides to cook some of Bree’s recipes.
So, as you just read, the Scavos are having money troubles and Lynette is not liking having Bree’s success in her face all the time. During the party/book signing to celebrate their new partnership, she and Bree get into a fight over the ingredients that Lynette wants to use in the pizza recipe from Bree’s book. Lynette dismisses Bree’s concerns about the quality of commercial Parmesan. When Bree later throws away the pizzas that weren’t made to her book’s specifications, Lynette gets angry and they get into a fight leading to Lynette accidently denting Bree’s new car. She wants to pay for it, but Bree refuses. Lynette insists and leaves the check… but not before telling her she doesn’t like how success has changed Bree. Bree feels bad and tears up the check after Lynette is gone. Meanwhile, Tom has been told by Lee that Dave was the one who told the cops that Porter was at the club just before the fire started (Bob had gotten access to the reports through his job and filled Lee in). Tom is, of course, furious and confronts Dave. Dave apologizes but Tom doesn’t wanna hear it. This whole thing, after all, has almost ruined their home and business.
Susan, as you might remember from the sneak peeks is desperate to get MJ into private school because the Fairview school system has gone downhill and she thinks MJ isn’t getting a good education. The good news is MJ gets in. The bad news is the tuition has gone up by a lot and Susan can’t afford it. She tries to get the money from Mike, but he says he doesn’t have it. When Susan later sees Katherine wearing a pearl necklace, she’s furious. She thinks Mike is showering Katherine with all this great stuff and ignoring MJ’s school problem. Mike sets her straight (the necklace was fake and he’s working around the clock), making Susan feel bad. She goes back to the school and talks the Head Master to give her a job there so they’ll get a tuition break.
Finally, Edie has started getting curious about Dave’s ex and asks a question, although, I’m not sure she liked his answer much. Basically, she wanted to know what the difference is between being married to her and his ex. He pretty much implies that with the ex it was like a fairytale and with Edie, he has a more realistic view (ie- nothing lasts forever). Let’s see if the questions keep up. Well, that’s about it. Take care and see you next time. I leave you with a video by Steveboy12 giving a few hints about the next new episode. Enjoy!
Good morning, again! With only a few days left until a new episode comes on again, I see that some more sneak peeks have been released. There are three in all, posted by dhcentral. As always, I’ll post the clip and give you a little rundown. If you don’t want to know…. how about heading over here?
Hello, again!! How’s it going? Well, here we are: another week with no episodes to discuss. There will be one this Sunday, though, and here’s some info about it. I know episode descriptions are not really spoilers, but I’m gonna put it all behind a cut anyway, cause I know some people like to avoid even those. Read on if you wanna see what the next episodes about. Otherwise, here’s a couple links for ya to check out. First, here’s another promo. It was posted by Brent 0788:
Good morning, everyone!! Now, we all know that there is no new episode for a couple of weeks yet. Still, that doesn’t mean you can’t get your fill of the show in the meantime. There are a couple of previews up for the next one. As always, the clips and descriptions are going behind a cut. If you wanna see it fresh when the episode debuts, why not head over here instead? For the rest of you… continue on! By the way, there will be a slight spoiler mentioned by me in here as well…
Susan and Katherine
In this clip, Susan has broken into Katherine’s home to steal a pearl necklace she was apparently given by Mike. This is because Mike refuses to pay for a private school for MJ and Susan wanted to sell it to try to get the money. Katherine seems to get over the theft awfully fast, though, and gets a little upset over Mike not wanting to pay towards the school. Apparently, Mike doesn’t change his mind on the issue because it’s been said Susan will be taking a job at the school to cover the expenses. Why she’s so dead set on Private School when Julie never went, I don’t know.
Gabby and Edie
This was my favorite one of the two. Edie has taken Gabby to a military-style workout camp to get in shape. It seems that Edie has gone there before, since she seems to know the guy very well. Gabby spends most of the episode practically gagging because she can’t handle the workout. The instructor doesn’t really care, leading to some great banter. Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see you next time.
Good morning, everyone! So, last night was a repeat of the 100th Episode and we’re getting a repeat next week, too. That, of course, means no recap. Still there is some news to talk about. Starting with Doug Savant. I got an e-mail the other day about a new movie he’s in. I got it too late to talk about it at the time, but now it’s getting ready to repeat so here’s the scoop:
It’s called What Color is Love, and co-stars Jennifer Finnegan from The Dead Zone. It’s about a woman who has an affair with a basketball player and ends up in a custody battle over their child. I can’t find any information about what Doug’s part is exactly, but I’m guessing it’s a pretty good part, since he’s listed as one of the stars. It airs on Lifetime Movie Network at 10 PM on the 29th and again at 2 PM on the 30th. Here’s a promo, courtesy of LifetimeFilms:
If that’s not enough Doug for you, you can also check out Bonnie and Clyde: The True Story on Fox Movie Channel. That airs on February 3rd at 4 PM. The movie is from 1992 and features fim as a Sheriff who is looking for the pair.
By the way, stay tuned Gale Harold Fans… according to a bit from TV Guide not long ago, Susan and Jackson are going to be reuniting soon. Whether this means that are actually getting back together or just going to meet up, I don’t know. Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see y’all next time.
Good morning, again!! I’m here today to bring you my pick for Actor of the Week. I know I’ve been a bit predictable in my choices recently, but I couldn’t help it. There have been a few actors who have been stealing the show lately. Still… this week, I have something new for you!
Brenda Strong/Mary Alice and Beau Bridges/Eli Scruggs. Eli was just fun the whole episode, but that last flashback with him and Mary Alice stole the show. Especially her delivery on the voice over at the end. Another great part of the scene was the look they exchange when she notices his torn shoe. They managed to fill that look with meaning without going overboard. Kudos to the both of them. Who knows? Maybe we’ll see them again one day in another flashback. It would be a crime if they didn’t use him again at some point. I could go on some more about the acting and writing in this scene, but I really can’t do it justice, so check it out for yourself thanks to Larson1988 on youtube:
See what I mean? I think if this doesn’t get the show some awards nominations, nothing will! So do you agree with this choice or were you more moved by Lynette deciding to help Penny with her assignment? Did you think Gabby’s admitting she wants friends was better? How about Bree when she’s given back the cookbook notes? Be sure to let me know what your own favorites were in the comments section. Until next time, take care.
Good morning. Hope everyone had a great weekend and you’re ready to dish some more about the show! To start the week off, here’s a little summary of the latest episode, in case you missed it…
So, Karen is upset to find out that Eli, the town’s handyman, has decided to retire. She likes him and doesn’t wanna have to deal with a new guy. Eli insists, however, that he’s done fixing things because his doctor has told him he has a bad heart and needs to slow down. The job he’s doing now (fixing a shingle on a roof) is going to be his last job. He has no idea how right that is… has he finishes nailing the shingle in, he passes out and dies of a heart attack. Little Juanita Solis sees him on the roof and screams, leading the housewives to remember the nice things he did for them.
Gabrielle remembers being new to Wysteria Lane and not being happy about it. It’s too quiet and Carlos is never home. So, Eli gets the girls to come to her house for a poker game. Unfortunately for Gabby, she doesn’t leave the best impression. She brags too much and is a little too rude and conceited, leading the others to not want to hang out with her. Eli informs her of this later and tells her that she’d better watch her attitude because no one wants to hang out with her. This actually gets to Gabby and she arrives at Lynette’s with a basket and apologies, actually catching them in the middle of a game.
Bree remembers being teased by Rex about getting a job when she wants a new stove. This was the first time she ever worked on her cookbook. Rex, however, isn’t all that supportive and mocks the idea, leading Bree to throw all her notes away. Eli saves them for her and presents them to her after Rex dies. He tells her he thought she might want them some day and she seems touched that he did that for her.
Lynette remembers being pregnant with Penny and obsessed with getting back to work as quickly as possible. She’s even trying to close a big deal while in labor! It gets so bad after she’s born that Lynette actually accidently leaves Penny in the car because she was so busy hashing out a big deal on the phone. Eli sees this and picks up Penny, bringing her in to Lynette, who is so upset she hangs up on the person and thanks him for what he did.
Edie recalls an ex-husband who left her feeling unattractive because he refuses to sleep with her. Eli accidently overhears the conversation, leading Edie to ask him what he thinks of her so she’ll know if it’s her or not. He assures her that she looks great and Edie feels a lot better. Later, after her husband decides he’s gay and leaves, she cries on Eli’s shoulder a bit and then seduces him.
Susan also cries on his shoulder. She remembers him being there to rant to and cry with after both Karl and Mike leave. Her last memory is talking to him about breaking up with Jackson. He’s about to go work on her roof and she realizes he’s the most consistent guy she’s had in her life and wants to learn more about him, especially since he’s just told her he’s retiring. He agrees to hang out for a bit and chat after fixing her roof and she heads out to the store to get some wine for them to drink while they talk.
Finally, there is a memory of the time that started his habit of helping everyone. He approaches Mary Alice, looking for work after having just arrived in Wysteria Lane. Seeing he’s in need, she asks him if he can repair a vase she broke and offers to hand out his card to people. A couple years later, he walks in with a part for her and finds her reading the infamous note. She tells him she’s fine and asks if he can come back another day. He agrees and turns around to leave, but Mary Alice stops him and says she wants him to have the vase he fixed for her. He thanks her and they share a moment before he leaves. Later, he drives by to see the ambulance and cops cars and realizes why she gave him the vase. He’s so shaken by it that he promised himself he’s do everything he could to help others.
And there you have it: The 100th Episode. That’s about it for now… take care and I’ll see ya next time! I leave you with a clip from the episode posted by cooldhfan. Enjoy!
