Sneak Peak Time

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Hey, guys! How’s it going? I’m doing alright today and excited to share some sneak peaks with you guys that I saw were posted on youtube last night. They’re for the hundreth episode and show a little flashback action. If you don’t wanna know anything, you might wanna head on over here instead for today and I’ll see you again tomorrow. If you don’t mind getting a bit spoiled, read on…

There are two sneak peaks out there so far. The first one I am going to post features Edie, her ex-husband and Eli (ya know, the handyman who dies in this episode and everyone reflects on their interactions with him). Edie and her husband are arguing because she wants sex and he doesn’t because he thinks she’s got an out of control libido. He storms off, and Eli walks out of the bathroom… she’d forgotten he was there. Edie, feeling all unattractive, asks him to rate body parts to make sure the problem is not her. He assures her there is nothing wrong with her.

The next one is my favorite of the two! It features Lynette and Tom. Lynette’s on the phone trying to close a deal on a new job when Tom walks out and notices water all over the floor. He asks her what’s going on and she tells him her water broke. This leads to Tom trying to get her off the phone while Lynette continues to talk. She gets the job and hangs up, Tom making a comment that is definitely going to be in my favorite quotes for the week. You’ll see what I mean.

That’s about all for now. Take care and I’ll see you again tomorrow with more news, reviews and other cool stuff.

Classic Quotes

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Good afternoon, guys!! Sorry I couldn’t write this soon, but there’s an explanation of sorts of the 24 blog. Now, let’s get to some fun, huh? I wanna share some of my favorite quotes with you all. Be sure to post you own if I missed any of your favorites!

Mike (after finding out Edie kicked Dave out): I wish I could say something to help, but all I’ve got is ‘that sucks’.

Orson (defending his purchase of a new grill): I got a good deal.
Bree: He only thinks he got a good deal because the salesman threw in one of those ‘kiss the cook’ aprons.

Juanita (in response to Gabby saying Daddy has to go and make them lots of money): We don’t need lots of money!
Grabby: What did I say about that kind of language??

Susan (after Edie points out Susan stole Edie’s misery thunder by announcing she’s moving in with Jackson): I’m sorry… I thought we gave your latest break up the 3 seconds of shock it deserved.

Susan (telling Edie why she would never want to be like her): You’re famous for the number of men you’ve conquered.
Edie: Thank you!
Susan: That wasn’t a compliment, you tramp.

Susan and Edie were on fire in this episode, don’t you think? I love when Nicollette gets scenes with the other Housewives. She always manages to nail those one-liners. Once again, feel free to post your own favorite quotes in the comments. I love reading others opinions. I leave you with a funny scene that was posted by Bruno1516108. Until next time, take care!!

Episode 5X12 Recap

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Another episode down, and I’m here to fill you in on all the action again in case you missed it. There was a lot going on this time that seems like it’s going to have some consequences for awhile yet. Let’s start with Gabby.

The Solis family is trying to adjust to their new lives now that Carlos is working. The girls are going crazy, refusing to listen to Gabby at all and at one point, Juanita actually tells Gabby they love Carlos more. Gabby’s so desperate to get them to listen (Carlos refuses to help, since Gabby pretty much forced him into the job), she actually gets the lawn guy to yell at the girls. Carlos isn’t too happy, but Gabby tells him what Juanita said and reminds him that he refused to help, leading Carlos to give in and lay down the law with them about not listening to Gabby. Kind of sounds like Lynette and Tom in the early days of the show, huh?

Speaking of them… Lynette gets a visitor that leads her to her son. She hurries over to the home to see her mom and Porter, but Porter isn’t there. They found out Lynette was tipped off, so Porter ran and mom refuses to say where he is because she’s furious with Lynette for putting her in the home. Lynette, not knowing what else to do, pretends to get in an accident so that they’ll both come running to see how she is. It works with mixed results. Porter gets over being angry fast and decides to come home while her mom is furious. Lynette visits her later and they fight it out, finally calling a truce.

Bree’s needing to work out a truce, too, after making some comments about Orson in front of Alex. Alex has some old family issues he’s reminded of and tells Bree she shouldn’t make fun of Orson like that in front of him. Bree, of course, gets offended and after another argument, Alex tells her she can keep the house she bought. He doesn’t want it. Later on, Bree goes to him to apologize, admitting she’s changed since becoming successful with her business and tells him she needs someone like him around who’ll keep her in line. He agrees to stay.

Susan is Susan- what more can I say about that one? As usual, her story’s all about relationship issues. This time, she’s obsessing because Edie told her she’s weak and can’t deal with not having a man in her life. Edie partly tells her that because she’s mad that the others forgot about her kicking Dave out the second Susan announced she was going to move in with Jackson. Still, Susan ends up realizing there might be some truth there and tells Jackson she can’t move. Let’s see if this actually leads to any change or growth for her character finally… by the way- Edie ends up taking Dave back, realizing she might have been too harsh in kicking him out.

As for the others…. Mike offers Dave a place to stay while things get settled and gets more serious with Katherine. He tells her he doesn’t want her to leave after she mentions maybe leaving Wysteria Lane and the charges against Porter get dropped. Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and see you next time. I’ll leave you with the ending and next week’s promo, thanks to mattndjessproduction:

Classic Quotes, Episode 5X11

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Good morning, everyone I’m here to share some of my favorite lines from the latest episode with a little commentary. Feel free to post your own in the comments if I missed em

Lee- Are you realizing we’re going to a gay club?
Susan- Yes, that’s fine Gays love me.
Lee- Name three.
Susan-You, Bob and Andrew.
Lee- That’s two.

Ok, I have to say it- I love me some Bob and Lee. Especially after that line. Hopefully, they’ll continue to be featured on the show over the coming seasons.

Edie: There’s something you should know about me. I don’t stay unhappy for long.
This is a great line from her said during a great scene. I’m glad she followed up later by kicking him to the curb after he revealed that he was married before.

Gabby: Come on, I mean you’re with a plumber, a house painter… Let’s face it, you love your service providers.

Another great one-liner directed at Susan. Has someone got a problem with Teri lately? This episode had a few of em I loved Eva’s delivery and her laughing right after when Bob comes into the scene. Someone get this girl a sitcom after the show’s over…

Bob: But he had some drinks in him, he’ll bang anything with a pole and some facial hair.

I think I’ll let this one stand on it’s own.

Karen McCluskey: She’s not that pretty.
Receptionist: I can hear what you said
Karen: From all the way there? (whispers to Roberta) Boy, she IS young.

I’m sorry to see Roberta go if that was, in fact, her last scene. Lily and Kathryn owned that scene and the actress playing the receptionist was great at playing off them. I just still wonder why she doesn’t seem to be more concerned about the fact her boss was due back over a week ago.

Bree: (whispers to Orson) Guess who’s got the burnt lamb chop

Bree wins this round, but I still think the mother-in-law from Hell has a little something in store for Bree yet.

Bradley: Just taking care of my kids
Maria (Bradley’s wife): Yea, I have a picture of them in my purse. Want to know how many he can name?
Bradley: More wine, Maria?

This was such a hilarious scene and I hope we’ll see the wife again now that Carlos took the job. She and the actor playing Bradley were great together. Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see y’all next time. I leave you with the opening narration from the episode. I loved it just for the fact it showed all those old Van De Kamp family pictures. Enjoy!

Epsiode 5X11 Recap: Home Is The Place

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Good morning, everyone! I hope you all got a chance to catch the new episode last night. I sure did and loved it! In case you missed it, here’s a little recap of what went down.

The Hodges/Van de Kamps met Andrew’s future mother-in-law and it did not go so well. She’s determined to get the kids to move to where she is, while Bree is just as determined to get them to stay. So much so, in fact, she decides to buy a house Edie is selling to keep them on Wysteria Lane, much to her adversaries annoyance. Should be interesting to see what counter moves are coming. And you know one’s coming….

The Solises are at a crossroads now that Carlos has his sight back. Carlos doesn’t want to keep working as a massage therapist. He’s rather work with an organization for the blind. The same one that helped him, in fact. Gabby, meanwhile, thinks that he should take the cushy six-figure offer an ex-co-worker with his own company offered. This leads to a bit of an argument between them (Carlos hates the guy and thinks of the work as soul crushing, while Gabby thinks the family has sacrificed enough and it’s time for him to bring in real money again.) Carlos finally relents and agrees to take the job. I can’t wait to see the trouble this is going to cause.

Over at the Scavo house, Porter’s lawyer has found out that Porter left and Preston has been taking his place. He threatens to go to the DA with the information unless they can get Porter back before the lawyer’s next meeting with him. Lynette tries to get Preston to spill the details, but he refuses. He says that they’re more worried about being able to serve pizza than Porter’s safety. Lynette takes Preston with her to a club where Mr. Shilling hangs out and informs him that she is going to run the man over to protect Porter to prove how much she does care about them and orders him to get out so she can do what she has to do. Porter gets the point and refuses to leave, telling her he will try and get Porter to come back. They talk to Porter over the phone and almost convince him to return. That is, until Lynette’s mom comes into the scene and makes Porter hang up, telling him not to trust her.

Over at Edie’s, she catches Dave talking to himself a couple nights after getting into a fight over his appearance. She can tell something’s wrong, but won’t say what. The talking to himself incident finally pushes her to demand to know the truth. Dave doesn’t give her the whole story, but admits that he was married and widowed once before. Edie is furious he kept that information from her and tells him to leave immediately. He packs his things and heads off to a hotel or something just in time to see Karen returning home from an ill-fated trip to Dave’s doctor’s office. (By the way… apparently, the people who work with him are idiots. The receptionist says he was due back over a week ago and has still not returned, but they haven’t seemed to report this fact to anyone.)

Finally, with Jackson out of town, Susan goes out with Lee and ends up getting drunk. She wakes up beside him in bed and freaks out, thinking they slept together. He assures her that nothing happened and Susan is relieved, since Jackson called and asked her to move in with him. Without even thinking of MJ (and Mike’s access to him, since Jackson’s living out of town right now), Susan decides she should do it. To his credit, Lee, who’s been filled in on the situation, tells her she shouldn’t do it unless she can say she loves him. This is something she wasn’t able to do. We’ll see how that all turns out.
Well, that’s all for now. I will leave you with the preview for next week, courtesy of mattndjessproduction. Stay tuned for my thoughts on the promo, favorite quotes, actors and more over the next few days. Take care!

Nicollette Sheridan- You can see her in Code Name: The Cleaner on HBOe on January 2nd at 10 AM. She’ll also be in Spy Hard, airing January 5th on AMC. That’s at 4:45 am, so you better program those VCRs/DVRs….

Now, let’s talk about some of the recurring people. There are several of them appearing in shows and movies soon. First off… Roger Bart, our very own George the Pharmacist. If you have the east coast versions of Showtime, you’ll be able to see him in the movie Hostel Part 2. SHOe has it airing January 3 (10 PM), 6 (10 PM) and 11 (10 PM). Out With the Old and In With the New

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Good morning, everyone!! Can you believe New Year’s is here already? I know I can’t. It seems like the past year has just flown right by. Since today is a special day of reflecting and looking forward, I am going to mention a couple of my favorite moments so far this season.

Gabby being a mama bear and refusing to take the money from Granny Screw Loose when she found out Granny is going to try and take control of the kid’s schooling. This blind/poor plot for the Solis family has been great for her character.

Lynette coming back into the house and defending Anne against her crazy husband. I think that showed a real soft side to her we don’t see much of. Usually, she’s too busy scheming to get her own way or bossing the kids and Tom around.

Bree giving a book lecture high on sleep medicine and her resulting revenge on Orson. She is one character you just don’t mess with. Maybe in the new year people will figure that one out. Then again, this is Housewives. People don’t always act in the smartest ways on this show. It’s part of the fun.

Jackson and Mike bonding during a guy’s night out and the friendship that resulted from that. Those two actors have such great chemistry and my best wishes are still going out to Gale for a speedy recovery and return to the show. Latest rumors out there suggest he might not be back this season after all. I hope those are false.

Carlos selling the baseball he loved so much to get Gabby a dress after seeing how much she has sacrificed for the family. This just showed what a great guy he is and how much he’s grown up since season one, when he could be a little too ‘cave man’ like a times. Here’s hoping this new, improved Carlos sticks around.

Well, that’s about it for now. Feel fre. Before I go, I just want to say thank you all so much for reading and commenting on the blog this year. I hope you’ve been enjoying yourselves as much as I have and I look forward to more dishing in 2009. See y’all next time and have a safe and blessed new year!

By the way… don’t forget a new episode airs this Sunday!

The Twelve Days of Desperation…

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

Good morning, everyone and Merry Christmas!! If you don’t celebrate, I hope you’re having a great holiday season so far. Wow… can you believe that the year is almost over? In only a couple weeks, we’ll be in 2009. I’ll reflect a little bit on the past year in Housewives and offer my thoughts on their new year’s resolutions in these last couple weeks, as well as all the usual stuff. For now, I wanna give you all a little present. It’s my humble spoof of the Twelve Days of Christmas. I hope you all enjoy it! Keep reading to see more…. I’m also inculding a video of the original from youtube. (more…)

Desperate Spoofing…

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

Good morning guys! I’m here with a little SAG update for you. The vote that was set for January 2nd has now been moved to either the 12th or 13th. Why? Because there’s not a lot of support for it. SAG needs 75% of it’s members to vote yes for this to happen and right now, a good chunk of it’s membership doesn’t like the idea. The main negotiator behind it all is hoping the delay will give those leaders who support it time to educate those who are against it and get them to change their minds. I say they’re crazy if they think another week or so is going to work. Doug Savant and others are still looking to fill empty board seats when SAG’s elections come up to make some changes in how the union does business. We’ll see how this all plays out in the new year.

Speaking of holidays, I thought in the spirit of the season, I’d share a few laughs with you. Youtube is crawling with Desperate Housewives Spoofs, so it’s very hard to narrow down what to choose. I figured I’d just grab a few at random. This first one was posted by waterstallion. I have no idea where it came from and the quality isn’t the best, but still kind of cute. One of the reasons I like it is because of the one playing Bree. She really nailed her voice and mannerisms. Check it out for yourself:

Next is a MadTV spoof from a while back with men in the parts of the Housewives. Once again, I think Bree (and the narration) is the best part. I love, too, how each spoof so far has made fun of Susan’s klutziness. Check it out, thanks to elvisontheisland:

Finally, let’s show the men some love. Here’s a spoof called Desperate Househusbands and it was posted by 1charmedlife. Enjoy and I’ll see y’all next time! Don’t forget to comment and let me know what you think of the spoofs. Share some of your own favorites, as well, if you want.

Josh Really Gets Around….

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Good morning, everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend, even though there was no new Housewives last night. They aired the repeat where Jackson meets the family and Gabby tries to pretend she’s still on the top of the social ladder. Today, I wanted to talk a little bit about Josh Henderson, who played Austin (Edie’s Nephew).

For those who don’t know, I’m also a fan of 90210, which is also in reruns. I happened to be looking at a news story for that show that mentioned Josh. Apparently, he’s playing Sean on that show. For those who don’t know, Josh comes onto the series as the long-lost son of Harry Wilson (the father of the main characters and principal of West Beverly) and Tracey Clark (the mother of his daughter’s enemy). Looks like he’ll be stirring up some big trouble, because in his last scene before the break, he revealed via a phone call to someone he is not all he appears to be.

After reading about this I decided to look up information on him and found out some interesting things. Once upon a time, he was a pop star! He was chosen to be in a band called Scene 23 that came out of the WB’s show Popstars. They didn’t ever release a full album and their label went bust, leading to the end of the group. That wasn’t his only brush with pop stardom, though. He also appeared on The Ashlee Simpson show on MTV. He was Ashlee’s boyfriend at the time and they broke up within the first few episodes.

So, who already knew this and who is surprised like me? Comment and let me know! I leave you now with one of their videos, courtesy of allegria78 on youtube. Enjoy and I’ll see y’all next time!

Teri Hatcher’s Election Night

Friday, December 5th, 2008

Good morning, everyone! So, I know this may be a little bit late, but I am here to give you the scoop on Teri Hatcher’s interview with David Letterman. You can see the full video of it below. Underneath the clip, I’ll summarize it for ya in case you can’t see it for whatever reason.

So, the interview started off much like her appearance on The View a day or so before. He asked about her Thanksgiving plans and she told him that she had already had her big family celebration, so she was going to spend the day in New York with friends, getting a massage. One of the odd moments (which has gotten her some press lately) came when talk turned to the Election. Apparently, a picture came out with a caption stating she desperately needed new underwear. This just happened to appear on the same page as the election map, so now Teri associates the night with her need to get new underwear.

One of the best parts was when she discussed going on Safari with her daughter, Emerson. She showed some awesome pictures of the land and the animals, taking the opportunity to fill Dave in on how you can tell a Cheetah from a Leopard. Leopards have “black tears” (when she see the video, you’ll know what that means). According to legend, they got this after a Leopard lost it’s cub. The things you learn from a TV interview, huh?

Overall, a pretty good interview. Also, the underwear moment was less stupid and odd than the news stories led me to believe. That’s all for now. Take care and see you again on Monday!

Preview Time!

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Good morning, everyone. How are you all doing today? I’m pretty good and ready to share a preview with you! It’s the only one that’s been released for episode 10 yet, so enjoy! Thanks CoolDHFan for posting it! For anyone who can’t watch it, let me give you a little rundown. If you don’t wanna know anything at all go no further. May I suggest a couple blogs for you? (more…)

Previews and Quotes…

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Good morning, everyone!! I hope everyone is all ready for the Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow. I know I am! In the meantime, I promised I’d share some previews with you. I just can’t see them myself because of internet connection issues (dial-up is NOT youtube’s friend!) Enjoy em anyway and I’ll provide some commentary another time. By the way… I think we owe a big thanks to those who have shared these clips with us.

Clip One: Susan and Mike

Clip Two: Tom and Lynette (I assume this is gonna be the scene they showed a little of in the episode promo. If so… good stuff!

Clip Three: Bree and Orson (who have gotten much better the past few episodes, by the way. I’m hoping this scene and episode keeps that trend going.)

Clip Four: Susan, Gabby and Edie. (Ok, I’m annoyed I can’t view this. I can only imagine how good this one is gonna be.)

So for those who watched em… what do you think? Were they good clips? Did they give away a bit too much? I’d love to hear your thoughts on them. Finally… I wanna share just a few cute quotes from the latest episode.

Andrew (after the reporter overhears Orson’s parole officer leaving a message): Now can I be gay?

Susan: Why is the cab driver handing money to Julie’s boyfriend? Why does Julie’s boyfriend going back in the cab? And why is the middle aged cab driver kissing Julie? (I loved her facial expressions and tone during this one!)

Gabby: Hey since I’m saving your life and all, I’m thinking maybe you could keep us in your will?
Virginia: No…
Gabby: Eh, It was worth a shot.

Lee: (to Bree) So is your first husband really into S&M hookers?
Bob: (after she storms off without answering) So you wonder why we don’t get invited for anything? (They’re funny. We need more Bob and Lee moments, don’t you think?)

See y’all next time and have a great Thanksgiving!
