Eva’s New Project….
Hello again! So, Housewives is gearing up for yet another season on ABC. While it looks like Ana might make it a busy one for Gabrielle Solis, Eva just might be busier. Not only is she doing a bunch of endorsements (the latest being for a beer), but it looks like she’s got a movie project in development.
According to the website for alquimia films, Eva is set to not only act in, but be a producer on a film called 1954. It’s the true story of Dolores “Lolita” Lebrón Sotomayor and the group she led. They were basically nationalists devoted to the freedom of Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, they took a violent method of getting their point across, attacking the US House of Representatives in (obviously) 1954. A small group of them, including Lolita, entered the visitor’s area above the chamber and opened fire while she displayed a Puerto Rican flag. When they were arrested, after wounding several lawmakers, they insisted they did not plan on hurting anyone. They wanted to die for their country. The group was tried and sentenced shortly after, staying in jail until Carter pardoned them in 1979. That move, by the way, was really controversial. The man in charge in Puerto Rico at the time spoke out against it, fearing it would lead to more violent acts.
She is said to still be active in pro-independence activities, but her advanced age (she was born in 1919) and a hip surgery have likely slowed her down quite a bit. It’s a crazy story, huh? I’m interested to see how the movie turns out. Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see y’all next time. I leave you with Eva’s new commercial posted by evalongoriapl:
