. Good morning everyone! So, how was everyone’s weekend? I hope you made it a good one and got the chance to see the new episode last night. In case you didn’t, though, I’ll be sharing a recap later. For now? I wanna talk about my pick for actress and character of the week: Eva Longoria/Gabrielle Solis.

This was Eva’s episode and she knew it. Every moment she was on screen, she made the most of. There were two plots for her this week, which I’ll go in a little more detail about in the recap: One…. a feud with Susan over parenting issues. Another is when she ends up buying a used car and has to stand up for herself when it turns out to be a lemon. She does it all in classic Gabby fashion, not letting anyone get the best of her. Personally, I wonder why people even try. I mean, let’s face it: this is freaking Gabrielle Solis. You just don’t mess with her and expect to not get burned a little.

One of the best moments she had, though, was during a more serious moment with Susan when she’s talking about the fact she’d rather Juanita be a bully than a victim. You could really see the love and concern she has the girls and a softer side of Gabby, something she tries not to show much. I know Eva gets some grief on fans boards here and there for not being all that good, but I think this episode proves them wrong and I’d love to see her get some recognition when awards season comes back around.

Well, that’s it. See ya later for the recap! I’ve also got some cool news about James to share tomorrow, as well as favorite quotes and other stuff, so don’t miss it! Til, then- take care!

Good morning, everyone!! Since the new episode is coming up in just a couple of days, I thought I would share my picks for the actors and characters that really stole the show this week: Neal McDonough as Dave Williams and Kathryn Joosten as Karen McClusky.

Karen’s had much more of a role this season and I am loving it so far. She’s always been a fun character with a sharp wit and bold personality. She’s really being able to showcase that this year, especially in her first scene with Dave. She is brash and unapologetic about the jokes she made to Edie, because they always made those jokes and she wasn’t going to be made to feel like she’s a bad person for it. I loved it. Still… she really won me over by simultaneously being able to play very vulnerable and scared when she realized it must’ve been Dave who took her cat. The best part of it all, though, was she showed that strong side again later by being proactive and basically forcing herself into Kathryn Mayfair’s house to get the dirt on this guy. No sitting and waiting for the ax to fall for her and I adore her for it.

Dave, meanwhile, was seriously creepy this week by blackmailing Karen to apologize like that. Neal really owns the part and made me actually worry briefly about the well-being of that cat! I have full confidence that Dave would’ve done away with him if Karen had not done what he said and I’m looking forward to seeing what he pulls next time someone makes Edie pout.

So, it’s getting hard to avoid getting details about the new season of our favorite show. Even mainstream articles are giving all the dirt, including yahoo!news. I was browsing through the TV section of the site and actually saw a spoiler used as a headline. Apparently, a big fire is going to break out while the neighborhood band (Orson, Mike, Dave and Tom) are playing. It’s going to be big and someone will not make it out alive.

Sounds familiar, huh? That’s the same thing we heard when the tornado came to town and the only one who died was Ida, who didn’t seem to be a very big character at all. So, who do you all think will bite the big one come sweeps time? I’m coming up a total blank on who it would be, as I don’t see them killing off any of the originals or their husbands and Marc seems to love Katheryn. I don’t see Dave dying either, because he’s the main mystery. This should be very interesting…

In some lighter spoiler news, there’s a few previews of this week’s episode up on youtube. This one is my favorite of them all:

I still think Juanita looks and sounds a little too old to be 4, but still- she is definitely the spawn of Gabrielle. I love how they’re throwing in these little looks and lines that make that so clear. Susan, on the other hand, is an idiot for this scene and I loved seeing Gabby smack her down. I think she went too far in pushing Juanita. Juanita definitely needs to be punished and I have no problems with kids getting spanked for bad behavior, but I think that unless Susan was actually watching Juanita at the time, she should’ve just walked Juanita straight home and told Gabby what happened. Maturity…. thy name is not Susan. By the way… I loved the Edie line at the end. “And they call me white trash…”

Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see y’all next time with my pick for actor/actress of the week!

Good morning, everyone!! As promised, here are some great quotes from this week’s episode. I hope you all enjoy em as much as I did….

Gabby: I don’t want to spend lots of time with you, Carlos, and the kids are on the fence.

Lynette: I know you’ve always been on the receiving end of breakup letters, but I’ve actually written a few.

Jackson: Could this be any more awkward?
Mike: Your robe is open, so yeah.

Bree, defending her use of Van De Kamp for her book and company: “Van De Kamp’ drips off the tongue. ‘Hodge’ sounds like the noise a plunger makes.

Mike (speaking to Susan about his reaction to jackson canceling their night out: Jackson canceled. He said he wasn’t comfortable with our friendship. I said something along the lines of ‘Meow!’ ::makes a whipping noise::

Mike (after Susan messes up a random guy’s drink, thinking it’s Jackson’s): Since we’re not married anymore, so I don’t have to protect you.

And, now…. my personal favorite:

Tom: Are you going to tell him the truth, or are you going to wait until he kills me and blinds himself? I love that one because it’s an Oedipus Rex (My favorite classic play) joke that actually makes sense in the context of the play. It seemed funnier and less cheap then some of the Oedipus jokes I’ve heard made on TV (ANGEL, anyone?). I also love how Mike and Susan are able to be friends and actually joke with each other like they did in this episode. I just hope this isn’t leading up to their 100th reunion. So, what were your favorites? Comment and let me know. I’d love to read em! I leave you with this cool picture I found of the cast. Til next time… take care! Also… be sure to come back tomorrow for some interesting spoilage I came across reading some articles on the show.

Good morning, everyone!! Now that we’re a couple of episodes in, Felicity Huffman joined the ladies of the View for a chat yesterday. I think I may have tuned in after it had started. What I saw was her talking a little bit about the new season and the mid-life crisis Tom is on the verge of. There wasn’t a whole lot given away about the show, so that was pretty good.

Mainly, as seems to be the case on the View, she talked about herself and stuff she’s doing personally. They showed an absolutely adorable picture of Felicity with a dog her family had adopted that looked like a Black Lab, but she described as a mutt. She’s actually involved with this great project that is sponsered by Iams. It’s called Home For the Holidays. Basically, their goal is to get 1 million dogs and cats placed in good homes during the October-January holiday season. If you’re interested in finding out more and maybe adding to your family, check here. I think this is one of my favorite causes the ladies of Wysteria Lane have been involved in.

During her visit, they also talked about her kids. Basically, She’s dreading the day they become teenagers and she’s dealing with the misery Lynette faces each day (the kids are currently both under 10). Whoopie started messing with her a bit, telling her that from the age of about 12 until they hit around 20, Felicity will never be right and constantly ignored. Overall, Felicity came off pretty good in it and looked great. And she, thankfully, didn’t share any scary stories along the lines of the Madonna underwear thing she talked about in More Magazine. Keep it up, girl! If you wanna see a more complete recap of the appearance (and the whole show in general), I point you to my fellow blogger Winnie McCarthy’s post on it.

Finally… as promised, here is a little more detail on the scene with Karl… Susan comes home from a talk with Mike to find Karl and Jackson chatting it up. she walks him out, asking him what he’s doing here… apparently, he had to come sign some papers for Julie. He then teases her about dating a plumber and a painter, adding “just think, If I’d been a roofer, we might still be together.” As an added bonus, check out this scene, where Mike and Jackson first run into eachother:

Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see y’all next time with some great quotes and other stuff.

Hey guys! Well… another week, another episode down. And what an episode it was! Lots of creepy moments and humiliation to spread around! Let’s start with the Scavos. Lynette spends most of the episode chatting with Porter online posing as a teenage girl to try and get some info about his life and who he’s associating with. What she didn’t expect was for him to develop a crush on her alter ego. She ends up getting busted when she writes a “dear john” e-mail and signs it “mom”. Hey, I never said Lynette was always the smartest wife on the block. I wonder why she spends so much time on these schemes of hers when they backfire so often. Tom was the voice of reason through the whole thing, telling Lynette she’s crazy for posing as a teenager and basically spying on the kid.

Gabby finds herself in an embarrassing position when she walks in on Carlos giving a massage session to an old man.

Over at the Solis house, their social decline just went into free fall. Gabby and Carlos have been dis-invited to a party Gabby says is the basis for every event of the social season. If they don’t show up there, other people won’t invite them to parties later. The reason for the dis-invite? Carlos is now working as a massage therapist at the country club and Bree (who is catering) tells her the host is uncomfortable having “the help” at the party. Gabby gets Carlos to crash the party with her anyway and makes nice with some people. Carlos ends up getting dragged out of the party and tells Gabby they’re much better off now. He was miserable before and now they have a family and all.

Susan and MJ

Susan has a few issues of her own. Despite trying to keep both Mike and MJ away from her new guy, several embarrassing encounters force her to deal with it and bring everyone together. Especially when Mike threatens to take her to court if he doesn’t get to meet Jackson since he’ll most likely end up spending time around MJ. Karl makes a cute appearance as well, which I’ll quote directly tomorrow. Anyway… the good news? Jackson and Mike hit it off (after all, who needs another love triangle-jealous ex story anyway) much to Susan’s annoyance later when she finds out they’ve shared a few too many secrets.

Bree has some explaining to do after Orson sees a promo copy of Bree's book...

Bree is doing press for her new cookbook and Orson isn’t happy about the whole thing. He did, after all, give up several years of his life to make Bree happy and he’s getting pushed aside. Bree, for her part, is trying to keep the peace while doing what she has to do for her career (like using the much nicer sounding Van De Kamp on her book). I think she’s starting to get caught up in all the fame stuff as a way of coping with the loss of Ben. She doesn’t make things any better, though, when she implies during a radio interview her husband is dead without clarifying she has a new one. Bree, I love ya but that was a pretty dumb move. I know you’re embarrassed about the jail thing, but come on- there’s no way that’s not gonna come out. May as well get it over with.

Finally, let’s talk McClusky and the Williams family. Edie is wanting to move because Karen made a joke about her being easy and she feels like no one likes her still, even though she’s changed. Dave seems upset for her, but insists they have to stay. He later goes to Karen and basically orders her to apologize. Karen, being the wonderfully feisty lady she is, refuses because she feels she did nothing wrong. They always insulted each other like that and she didn’t mean anything by it. He disagrees and later steals Ida’s cat to blackmail Karen into apologizing. Karen isn’t falling for his innocent “oh, look! I found the cat!” act and barges in on Katherine to use her computer. She wants to check out Dave’s background…

Like I said… over all, great episode! Everyone did a good job and I love where they’re going with many of the stories. Especially Dave. I can’t wait to see what he’s really up to. What do you all think? Be sure to comment and let me know your theories! See ya next time!

Good morning everyone!! I hope you’re all ready for the weekend and a new Housewives episode… I know I am. In the meantime, let’s talk some news…

There are plenty of new faces coming to Wysteria Lane this year and they’re not done adding people yet! This time, we’re going to have Rachael Harris coming on the show in a guest spot. She’ll be playing a reporter who interviews Bree, according to Entertainment Weekly. I, for one, am thrilled! I loved her when she did the commentary for VH1’s “I Love The…” Specials (even though I think those are going way too far now. Can we wait for the first decade of the new millennium to end at least before we start getting all nostalgic about it?). She’s done much more than that, though. She’s a member of the famous Groundlings improv group and has guest starred on shows like “SeaQuest DSV”, “Star Trek: Voyager”, “The Daily Show”, “Monk” and “Fat Actress”. She’s also appeared on “Notes from the Underbelly”, a sitcom on ABC, as Cooper.

Eva Longoria is looking to get out the vote this year. I’m sure y’all remember that she was part of a political even surrounding the Democratic convention. This time, she’s going to be speaking to college students about how important it is to vote. She’ll be speaking at New Mexico Starte University’s Corbet Center in Las Cruces. It’ll happen on Sunday at 11:45 in the morning. Adam Rodriquez from “CSI: Miami” will be there, as well.

Speaking of voting… SAG negotiators are looking to get SAG membership to vote authorizing a strike. They say it will give them some more power in their negotiations with producers. Can you believe they’re still trying that? I don’t get why they don’t just take the new AFTRA and other unions have. Dragging things out like this is really not doing anyone any good. I think that actors are going to be too smart to vote to strike or actually do it after the mess caused by the writer’s walk out. Come on actors…. prove me right.

Well, that’s all for now. Have a great weekend and I’ll see y’all again on Monday!

Good morning, everyone!! There’s some pretty good news on Wysteria lane… apparently, the premiere scored over 18 million viewers, slightly down from last year, but doing a little better than the finale, which is a good sign post-strike. Will episode 2 stack up? We’ll have to wait and see when the numbers are released.

ABC must be really happy too. Thanks to Housewives, Dancing With the Stars and Grey’s Anatomy, they were the number 1 network this week with over 12 million viewers tuning in a night on average. I’m liking where this is going. If it keeps up, Housewives will definitely continue to be a priority this year. I have high hopes for the show, as I’ve already seen many fan and former fan comments across the net saying that this premiere has made them interested in the show again.

If you just can’t wait to get a taste of episode two, you’ve got your chance! Here’s a preview scene from the episode. It features Bree, Orson and Andrew looking over a finished copy of Bree’s cook book. I’ll add a few comments below. If you don’t wanna know anything, go no further!

I can see why Bree is being a little defensive here. I think that Van De Kamp sounds better, too. And if she started the company when things were iffy, name recognition is key. Still, based on her tone and a few other previews out there (and her scenes from last week), I think Bree might be in danger of letting her new-found fame go to her head. Hopefully, she won’t go too far. Well, I guess that’s all for now. Take care and see y’all next time.

Good morning, everyone!! Now that the new season is here, I’m bringing back my Actor/Actress of the week picks. It’s my way of spotlighting the actor(s)/actress(es) that I thought really stole the show each week. This week, it was pretty tough. Everyone did really well and I loved the stories going on. Still, there was one scene in particular where the people involved really got my attention.

Marcia Cross out and about.

The flashback scene where Danielle takes her baby back was one of the most surprising ones to me and it was well-acted by both Joy Lauren and Marcia Cross. You could just see the pain and desperation radiating off of Bree while begging Danielle not to go through with it. The follow up scene where Bree’s business is called her baby makes it even more moving to me, cause you could see that was so true. She threw herself into the work to make up for the new hole in her life. I’m just waiting to see how Bree explained the disappearance of “her” child to all the non-housewife neighbors.

Joy Lauren at the Madden 09 Premiere Party.

Joy Lauren was also really good in the scene. She managed to show that while the character had grown up, she hadn’t really grown at all as a person. She still is selfish and cold, and didn’t really seem to have much concern for Bree. The cold way she said “you’re just gonna have to find someone else” was chilling to me. I’m just wondering why she’d want the baby back. Despite everything she said in the flashback, she jumped at the chance to be baby-less and fancy free in Florida.

So, there you have it: my two picks for the actresses who really stole the show for me, Marcia Cross and Joy Lauren. See y’all next time. Take care!

Good morning, everyone!! So, I promised I was going to share some favorite quotes from the episode today and I will. First, though, I wanna know what you all thought of the episode. Feel free to comment and share your own reviews… did you like the situations they found themselves in now? Are you as disturbed as I am by the fact Edie and her husband look like they’re fraternal twins? Is Carlos right about Juanita, or do you side with Gabby (for the record- I’m in total agreement with Gabby, but I do think Carlos has a point, too. The situation has to be handled delicately to avoid Juanita have problems later on)? Do you think Susan is being way too hard on herself and Mike over the accident (I think that Susan is perfectly justified in feeling some guilt here. I just think she took it way too far… at some point, she needs to get some professional help and realize that there was neither car was at fault in this and sometimes really crappy stuff happens)?

Eva Longoria as Gabrielle Solis

And now… some quotes-

Bree: Andrew, dear, I’m going to take a little break. Will you tell this gentlemen that if he calls me ‘sweetie’ one more time, I’m going to grab that camera and take a picture of his colon?
Andrew (to the man, off his look): Did you get that?

Lynette (about Edie): She’s ba-ack…

Edie (to Gabrielle): What happened to you? I mean, the clothes, the hair? Carlos may be blind, that the rest of us aren’t!

Lynette (after Dave manages to get Edie to be nice and bake muffins): Please don’t take this the wrong way, but we love you.

Bree (about Katheryn accusing her of stealing her recipes for the book): Don’t be silly! I may have based a few on your recipes, but I always changed something.
Kathryn: Like what, the font?

Edie: Mrs. McClusky… you’re still alive!
Karen: It’s nice to see you, too, Edie.
Edie: This is my husband, Dave Williams.
Karen: Where’d you guys meet? Do you own a free clinic or something?

Well, that’s it for now. See y’all next time with more!! Take care.
