Hey, everyone! Well, it looks like the younger residents of Wysteria Lane are pretty busy people! I filled you on the deal with the newest addition (Carlos’ niece Ana). Now, I’m gonna fill you in on someone from the past. Remember Lyndsy Fonseca? She played Dylan #2 during season 4. I just read a story today that says she landed a new movie role.
She’s going to be featured in a new comedy called The Hot Tub. It’s one of those time travel stories where a characters gets taken back into their past and gets to try and change stuff. Lyndsy is playing a character that one of the characters lost back in 1987 (funny enough, the year she was born!) no word on what exactly happened with her character, but I’m guessing there was some dumping going on…
You can still see her in another part as well. I see she’s also playing the future daughter of one of the characters from How I Met You Mother as well as having signed on for a CBS pilot with Drake Bell. Go her! She was also once a part of the cast of the You and the Restless. Hmm… another one from the soap world. Speaking of…. that leads to a bit of a trivia question: quick!! Tell me how many Housewives main players have gotten their start on a soap. I’ll be back another time with the answer. Take care and I’ll see y’all again tomorrow. Hope you had a great and safe holiday weekend!
Hey, everyone! So, I was thinking about what to do today and decided to do a little digging into the latest addition to Wysteria Lane: Ana, the teen who’s going to driving the Solises nuts, if the aunt’s to be believed. She’s played by Maiara Walsh. This isn’t the first time she’s been on screen, although I don’t know how familiar she’ll be to Housewives’ demographic.
Like little Juanita Solis, Ana’s actress also has ties to the Disney channel. Maiara is credited with being in the Disney series Corey in the House. She played one of his friends, who also happened to be the daughter of an ambassador. Better watch out! Next thing we know, ole Hannah Montana herself will be showing up on the show! (Hey, Maiara was in the video for 7 things…) Seriously, though? Maiara seems to be doing pretty good so far and I’m enjoying her.
If you wanna see even more of her, you might wanna check out the youtube page for spoofofmovies. It’s (obviously) a channel devoted to movie spoofs and she’s featured in quite a few one them, including one of the movie Twilight. You might have also seen her in Lullabye Before I Wake and the Sci-Fi Channel movie, Revolution.
A little personal fact? She’s Brazillian-American and speaks both languages perfectly. Welcome to Wysteria Lane!! Looking forward to seeing what’s next. Do you guys agree? Share you opinions here! I leave you with the Twilight spoof I mentioned. Enjoy!!
Now that the season is over, some are talking and we’re getting a little more insight into the Dave story and why it played out the way it did. According to an interview in TV guide, Neal himself asked for a change in plans.
According to him the original plan was, in fact, to have him kill MJ or someone else and they commit suicide. Neal felt that was too dark and his religious side made him want to find a little redemption for the character. I knew something had to have been going on there… especially after the interview with James Denton where he goes on about the horrible thing Dave will do that makes it almost impossible for him to be back. It also looks like we may not have seen the last of Dave Williams either. Wanna know more and see some of Neal’s thoughts on it all? Read the whole story.
I don’t know what I think about this. One the one hand, I did like how things ended up. Still, I have this thing against things being changed partially because of beliefs and.or a fear of going ‘too dark’. Especially when we’re talking a show that’s narrated by a suicide victim! Not exactly the lightest and fluffiest stuff out there. What does everyone else think? Do you like how things played out or would you rather have seen the original ending? How involved do you think actors should be in shaping stories? Post your thoughts and let’s talk about it!
I leave you with a little treat: A clip of Neal as a guest star back in the day, thanks to clipsofcuties. Enjoy!
I thought today I’d share a bunch of my highlights and lowlights for this season. Here are some of the best of season 5, according to me:
Best Overall Character Development: I’d say that’s got to be Gabby and Carlos. They have really grown a lot this year and have become much better characters (and more fun) for it. I’m really looking forward to seeing how they deal with Ana.
Most Useless Character: Katherine. I do enjoy her usually. I thought she was great last year. Still, I don’t really think she had much of a purpose this season. All she did was occasionally help Bree with the business and act all desperate for marriage. The one exception to this (and one of her best moments) was the episode where we see how she helped Bree through her tough time after Orson was jailed and Benjamin got taken away by Danielle.
Most Wasted Return: Julie, no question. She shows up to cry about commitment issues thanks to Susan’s crappy love life? Ugh. Here’s hoping they do bring her back again and she gets a better (and longer) story.
Most Disturbing Character: Dave. As if there was a question! Neal was awesome and I loved how his story ended with him seeing to escape into a fantasy world where everything is right for him again.
Best Newcomer: Jackson (Gale Harold). I really want to see more of this guy. He brought out the best in Mike and Susan both and it would be a shame if his story ended with him getting hauled off to Canada.
Most Entertaining Pair: Karen and her sister. If the rumors of a spin-off are true? I’ll tune in.
Disagree? Got more I didn’t mention? You know what to do. I’d love to read what you think. Take care and see ya tomorrow.
Well, here we are- another season has come and gone. If you missed the finale, don’t worry! I’ve got your recap/review right here…
The Scavos: So, as you might remember from the sneak peeks, Tom wants to go back to school to study Chinese and Lynette is not too happy about this. How did he get this great idea by the way? After taking the twins there to check the place out. Seems a certain Scavo boy would rather travel the world than head back into the classroom. Lynette, as usual, has that scheme and her scheme to keep Tom from passing that entrance test blow up in her face. Here’s the twist for ya- Tom actually has a really good plan behind the kinda stupid sounding study Chinese idea. Knowing the language would be a huge advantage for him in his field and he wants to give himself an advantage over all the young guys he’s been competing with. Unfortunately, there’s a little roadblock. Actually, two: Lynette gets the news that she’s pregnant with twins. Yes, I know. I’m not too thrilled with that, either. Do we really need more Scavo spawn running around? We barely see the ones they have as it is.
The Hodges: So, Orson’s found out about Bree’s storage unit and confronts Bree about it. She decides to come clean and tell him everything. Orson, however, is not very receptive to the whole divorce thing and he’s got a way to keep it from happening. Seems he filed an insurance claim after the robbery and if Bree goes through with the divorce, he’s going to turn Bree in for insurance fraud. Bree tells Karl about this latest development and Karl has someone threaten Orson to leave Bree alone. Bree, who didn’t want violence going on, gets into an argument with Karl about it that leads to a kiss (or two). Orson, by the way, was about to back off until he saw Bree’s concern over the attack. According to the last scene, it appears that Bree will stay with Orson for now, but she’s having a little fun on the side with Karl.
The Solises: You remember from the sneak peek that Carlos wants to take in a teenage relative right? Gabby’s against the idea, but Carlos really wants to do it, as the woman asking in the aunt who took him and his mom in and helped them after his father left. What he doesn’t know is, it seems there’s more to Ana than meets the eye and his aunt seems to be trying to unload her because of it. All we learn about Ana for now is she’s another Gabby, getting men to give her expensive dresses and do chores for her (hi, Scavos!). Gabby and Ana get into an argument over it, because Gabby doesn’t want Juanita and Celia getting the wrong messages and threatens Ana with eviction if it keeps up. Ana pretends to be all scared and upset to Carlos, who defends her against Gabby.
The Delfinos/Dave: Another episode, another trip of doom for Dave to plan. This time, he knows exactly who he wants to hurt. He leaves a tape for Mike, telling him to listen to it after he gets back from his honeymoon with Katherine. Katherine later grabs the tape and puts it in a recorder as she and Mike head off to get married in Vegas. While waiting at the airport, Katherine accidently hits the play button before heading for the bathroom and Mike hears Dave confessing to killing MJ. Mike rushes off to help them, leaving Katherine at the airport. A dumb woman there doesn’t give Katherine Mike’s exact message, leaving Katherine to think she’s been left at altar, so to speak. Meanwhile, Susan has just gotten a call from Mike warning her about Dave. Susan tries to get Dave to stop somewhere for a rest break to ger her and MJ away from him, but Dave doesn’t want to stop. Finally, Susan gives MJ a juice box so that they’ll have to stop in a little bit for a bathroom break. Dave stops to let MJ use some bushes and Susan hits Dave in the head with a rock. She has MJ hide while she tries to get keys from him. Unfortunately, he wakes up and a fight ensues. He knocks Susan out and gets MJ to come out of hiding. Shortly after, they’re all in the car heading for his destination. Now that he knows Mike and Susan are on to him and Mike’s on his way, Dave has an idea. He stops at the area where his wife and daughter died and leave MJ in the car while he ties Susan up nearby. His plan now is to wait for Mike to come and then hit the gas, crashing into Mike and forcing Susan to watch MJ die. At the very last second, though, he sees his own daughter in the mirror and lets MJ out before crashing into Mike. The last thing we see with Dave is him reliving the day his family died. Only this time, he asks them to stay home and spends time with them instead before getting a shot of Dave back in a Boston hospital. I’m guessing Dave is not living in his little fantasy world.
And now, the jump. It’s several months later and a wedding is happening. Everyone is there watching and we clearly see Mike at the altar. The only ones we don’t see are Susan and Katherine. Why you ask? Well, just as the show ends, we see Mike, turning to kiss his bride… only we never get to see who she is behind the hundred layers of veil Mike’s gotta get through first.
Well, there ya have it: The finale recap! I leave you with clips from the episode thanks to DHCentral and GaleHaroldOnline:
I’m back for one more post today! It’s not terribly spoilery, but if you don’t like knowing any details at all, I wouldn’t go any further. For the rest of you, follow me to the cut for an interview with Teri Hatcher…. Read the rest of this entry »
Hey! I hope everyone’s having a great weekend and all ready for the episode tomorrow. I thought I’d post a few sneaks peaks to help everyone get all ready for the finale. If you don’t wanna know anything yet, avoid the rest of this. For the rest of you, follow me to the cut! Read the rest of this entry »
Good morning, everyone!! How’s it going? Sorry about the lack of post yesterday. I had some technical difficulties. Stay tuned for some more posts later on today. Enjoy!!
Karl (I’m paraphrasing here): Picture some young bimbo using your first edition Robert Frost as a coaster and your 19th century crystal vase as an ashtray….
Bree: We should probably break a window to make it look more real.
Susan: Leave the toilet seat up, the immigration people will totally think we’re married.
Lynette (about Twitter): It’s one of those tech things you don’t care about. It’s for young people.
Tom: I am a dinosaur marching into the tar pit.
Gabby: I’m not dressed for ladeling, but I could stand by the condiment bar and spritz people with my Chenel.
Priest: And you say Juanita is ungrateful…hmm.
Gabby: I didn’t want to embarrass her.
Carlos: You saw her in a line waiting for free soup, how much more embarrassed can she get?
Bree: Wipe your feet first, I just had the carpets cleaned.
Karl: *blank look*
Bree: Just because we’re thieves doesn’t mean we need to be untidy.
Karl: You suppress every spontaneous urge you ever have. Man, it must be exhausting being you!
Bree: Yes, being a lady takes effort.
Susan: It’s not Iran, It’s Canada. It’s like America with free health insurance.
Bree: Orson, we’ve been robbed!
Orson: It wasn’t me, I swear!
Bruce: Hey, if you want, I’ll give you the name of my surgeon.
Tom: Yes… I definitely want the name of the guy who did that.
Hey, everyone!! I’m back and I’m here to give you my pick for the actor of the week. I hope you’ll all join me in the comments section after to give your own picks or let me know what you think of mine. So, after some thinking, I have decided I have to go with a person I don’t believe I’ve ever picked before: Richard Burgi as Karl.
I’ve always enjoyed him on the show, but he hasn’t been used all that much in recent years. This season, though, we’re getting to see him again and I’m enjoying every minute of it. His role as Bree’s divorce lawyer is great and I love the interaction between the two of them. What I love about him in this role is the joy written all over his face as he’s playing it.
Let’s face it- Karl is not a likeable character, really. He’s a cheater, he’s a sleazy lawyer… but someone Richard is making him likeable, even as he’s encouraging a client to commit a fake robbery in their own home. I also loved his response to Bree’s reactions to his plan. He’s right- it probably is exhausting being her and it’s nice to see someone call her on her prissy attitude. I also loved how he handled the more serious stuff, like when he was telling Bree how he knows exactly what she’s thinking, cause he’s heard it all before from other clients.
So there ya have it- my pick for the actor of the week. Stay tuned, cause there’s much more coming tomorrow and Friday. Take care!!
So, given the season finale is almost here, I thought now would be a good time to look ahead and where I hope the Housewives go from here. Here are some of the things I’d like to see in the future, by character-
Bree- I really want to see her move beyond Orson and just be single and running her business for awhile. She’s jumped from guy to guy, making horrible choices along the way (George anyone?). That said, an eventual hookup (or at least a friendship) with Karl would be fun as well. Bree needs to loosen up a little here and there, in my opinion, and I think Karl could help her do that.
Carlos- I think he’s been doing really good this season and I’d like to see him keep moving along the same path. I’d also like to see a little more interaction with the girls as well (Especially Celia. The writers seem to forget now and then that they have two children).
Gabby- I have one wish for Gabby: Learn. a. lesson. I think Gabby’s had some great character development between last season and this one, but she seems to have to keep learning the same lessons over and over again. It’d be nice if she could learn something and actually retain it.
Katherine- I wanna see her go back to her old self. She’s becoming a little too obsessed with the whole getting married thing and it’s a little embarrassing.
Lynette- I’d like to see Lynette have a story not involving marriage issues, balancing work and the kids or having more kids. It seems like she ends up in the same situations all the time and it’d be nice if they did something completely different with her.
Mike- Let’s go totally crazy here, huh, and actually have Mike completely and totally unconnected to any season mysteries. Also, let’s keep him away from Susan at all costs.
Orson- I’d like to see Orson either grow up a little and get back to his old self or get out of Wysteria Lane. He can be a really fun character, he just needs to get out of his own crisis.
Susan- I wanna see her continue working at the school until something big happens with her children’s books (does she even still do that anymore?). I also wanna see Jackson stay in the country and marry her. They make a great pair and I think he brings out the best in her.
Tom- I’ll be happy and forever grateful to Mark and Co. if they never give Tom a mid-life crisis again.
So, that’s what I wanna see- how about you guys? Share your thoughts and let’s chat about it! I leave you with a little sneak peak for next week, thanks to CoolDHfan (more sneak peak talk to come):
So, I thought last night’s episode was pretty good. There was a lot going on, so let’s get to the recap!
Katherine/Mike
This was probably one of the low points of the episode for me. I don’t understand a couple of things with them. 1) Why is Mike so panicked about the idea of marriage when he’s moved in with Katherine and practically begged her to stay when she was considering moving to be with her daughter. 2) Why is Katherine so pathetically desperate to get married to begin with? It’s so sad what they’ve done to her character over this. First, she bribed a kid last episode to bring up the marriage thing and now this week she only shows any enthusiasm for Susan coming by when she realizes Susan’s gonna get married and then pretends to send that text message promising to pay Susan’s alimony to keep Susan from calling off her fake wedding. I can only assume she’s doing that so Mike won’t change his own mind.
The Solises
So, here we go again. Gabby’s being a bad, bad girl once more and not being properly appreciative of her and Carlos’ new fortune and has to learn a lesson in humility. (Does the girl ever learn?? How many has that been this year anyway? I love count) Gabby runs into an old neighbor while bringing Juanita to a soup kitchen to teach her appreciation. Old neighbor is homeless now and Gabby can’t help but wonder what that girl did to fall so far so fast. Carlos, meanwhile hints that maybe over spending had something to do with it since Gabby’s going a bit overboard with some redecorating. Gabby later finds out that it was nothing the woman did that caused her to lose everything. Her husband had died after a long illness that pretty much ate up any money they had coming in.
The Scavos
As you saw from the sneak peaks, Tom’s out looking for work and running into the same age-related stuff Lynette dealt with when she was looking. After running into an old friend at a party and seeing how young he still looks, Tom decides to do something about his problem. He’s going to get surgery. Lynette, of course, is totally against it but Tom won’t budge. When Lynette finds out someone in her office had a similar procedure and looks really bad, she invites him over to talk to Tom about it, hoping Tom will take one look at the guy and decide not to do it. The only thing it makes Tom not do is use that guy’s surgeon. Lynette, however, seems to talk him out of it later by revealing she’s scared that he’ll start being dissatisfied with her looks, too, once he gets the surgery.
Susan
So, Susan’s going through with the fake wedding to keep Jackson around. At least…. until she finds out that she’ll lose her alimony payments, which she really needs. She stops by Katherine’s to talk to Mike. When she finds out Mike’s not home, she confesses everything and asks for her to have Mike call her and let her know if he’ll keep making the payments. What Susan doesn’t know is, Katherine was on the phone with Dave at the time and he apparently overheard everything. Next thing you know, Jackson is taken away by immigration officials one their way to the courthouse.
The Hodges
As y’all say from the sneak peaks, Bree and Karl staged a robbery at the house. We find out in the episode that Karl talked Bree into it so that Bree’s valuables can ‘disappear’ before the divorce. They’re keeping them in a storage unit. After the ‘robbery’, Bree has second thoughts about it all, because Orson is being so sweet and kind. He’s even having a replacement of some mask they bought once made for her. Karl laughs that all off and tells her that he’s heard it all a million times and she’ll regret staying with Orson. Bree decides to go through with the divorce after all. There may be a problem, though. Orson finds out accidently about the storage unit Bree bought and goes to see it, furious when he discovers it full of the stuff that was ‘stolen’. This includes the mask he was having remade.
So that’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see y’all later on. Here’s a promo for next week for you, thanks to TheHousewives000:

Hello out there! Wow, there is so much gossip floating around about the finale, it’s hard to keep up! Allow me to fill you in in case you haven’t been keeping up with the news. (Spoiler-free readers… you don’t wanna continue): Read the rest of this entry »
Hello again!! So, I thought over the episode and I’ve picked my actress of the week. I was kinda leaning towards Eva for a minute cause she did do some nice work this week with the Juanita wants makeup story. Still, I think one actress was just a little better:
Marcia Cross. Her portrayal of Bree was always been good and I think Marcia is at her best when she’s playing the schemer. This week, showed a couple different sides to the character. The first was the ruthless schemer, which Marcia really worked. I loved her delivery of the ‘clearly, I’d rather think of myself as rich’ line. It’s not really that funny of a line, but Marcia made it amusing by the way she added some dignified tones in along with the snooty voice, matter of fact voice.
The part that I really thought was good, though, was when she had to bribe MJ to invite Karl’s psycho kid to the sleep over. I don’t think too many actresses can pull off looking so defeated and desperate as they practically beg a 6-year-old to do them a favor. She’s just so worn down by Orson, she’s actually starting to let go of the whole must be dignified at all times thing.
So what do you guys think? Was she the best or do you have someone else in mind for that prize? Comment and let me know about it! In the meantime, take care and I’ll see y’all tomorrow with more.
Hey! I’m here, as usual, to give you a run down of the latest episode in case you missed it. For those that didn’t, I offer a few thoughts on it and hope you’ll share your own. So let’s get to it…
The Scavos
If you watched the sneak peaks, you know that Tom and Lynette have been reading some book to help spice up their marriage. This means doing it every night for thirty nights at the same exact time. Lynette’s into the idea and all, but Tom’s taking it more seriously than her. He even shows up at her office to make sure they don’t miss a day. (I still wanna know what the hell those people were doing having a board meeting, in full suit and tie, at midnight. Not the mention other execs like Lynette and receptionists being on duty.) One night, Lynette’s just too tired and falls asleep during, really upsetting Tom. Lynette tries to make up for it, but a fight happens. Tom ends up revealing that he hasn’t got much of anything going on anymore (especially with all the kids older and doing their own thing) and Lynette’s the only thing he’s really passionate about. Of course, they make up and all seems well.
The Hodges
Can’t say the same for Bree and Orson though. Bree is consulting a Divorce attorney behind Orson’s back and is furious to find out that Orson will get half of everything. When the lawyer won’t go shady enough to protect her, she decides to hire Karl instead. Karl agrees to protect her assets if she’ll get his son invited to MJ’s birthday party. Bree brings MJ a bunch of treats and tries to be a little sneaky about talking him into it. While she’s doing that, Orson comes outside and yells to her that he took money from her purse cause he doesn’t have time to go to the ATM. This make Bree even more determined to get rid of him and she practically begs MJ, who agrees to invite lil Karl.
The Solises
Little Juanita (who has apparently aged a year or so since the start of the season) has seen a magazine photo of a girl who looks like Gabby (too funny that they used one of Eva’s magazine covers!) and wants to use makeup. Especially since the kids at school are making fun of her and saying she’s not pretty enough to be Gabby’s kid. So, Juanita sneaks some make up from Gabby’s room and puts it on before getting on the school bus. When the school calls Gabby, Gabby is furious and tells Juanita she is not allowed to wear make up. She refuses to cave, even after Juanita tells her why she wants to. Carlos agrees and wants to take it a step further. He thinks Gabby should go to some big event without any on herself to teach Juanita a lesson. Gabby finally caves after much arguing but isn’t happy about it. She even steals some make up while at the event to pretty herself up a bit for pictures, which disappoints Juanita and Carlos. Gabby later has a talk with Juanita and apologizes for what she did.
Susan
So, Jackson’s back and he’s apparently Canadian. Not only that, but his visa expired and he’s about to be deported unless he gets married. Susan, being the crazy chick she is, ends up going along with this idea. After, of course, she makes a total fool of herself by blubbering on about how she’s so glad he loves her after all, a total regression from her supposed growth after he left. In other Susan news, she and MJ are going on a little trip with Dave. Jackson may just end up getting added into that cause the cops are finally getting around to dealing with the whole dead psychiatrist thing and they know Jackson was in the back room as well.
So there ya have it- the latest episode in a nutshell. Take care and see ya tomorrow! I leave you with a little preview of what’s to come, thanks to CoolDHFan:
