Hey everyone! I have a bunch of sneak peaks for Sunday’s episode ready for ya so go behind the cut to check em out. They were posted by desperate addicts, CoolDHfan and DHCentral. Enjoy and I’ll see you guys again on Monday!
The first one is Lynette and Tom. Apparently, they’re having marital problems and are reading some book that advises them to do it at the same time every night to spice things up. This clip has Tom showing up at Lynette’s office for some action:
As you saw last week, Mike is a bit uneasy about the whole getting married idea. This clip has Katherine, Mike and MJ eating dinner when MJ brings up the marriage question. Can I just say again how completely adorable little MJ is?
Last week, Bree was furious that Orson lied again and told Andrew she may have to divorce Orson. This week, she’s visiting one of those lawyers Andrew dug up for her to discuss the issue. Let’s just say this could end up getting very ugly:
We get another poker game this week. The ladies are enjoying a game at the Scavo house when Tom comes downstairs to remind Lynette about their… appointment. What I’m wondering is…. what on earth at the ladies doing there playing poker anyway? I’m pretty sure Tom said it was almost midnight in the clip.
I’ve saved the one some of you guys have been waiting for for last. I think I’ll just let this one speak for itself:
So, I’m sure you all remember the writer’s strike and the actor’s negotiations. Most of the fued between them was over online content, which is becoming more and more popular in the past couple of years. I know whenever I want to watch a music video or see a show I didn’t get to tape, my first stop is youtube or the network’s website.
There are other places out there where you can see things and do it legitamately, too. One of them is Hulu. I’m sure a lot of you have heard of this site already. It’s all over the place. Networks are even running ads about it featuring some of their actors. (FOX did that with Eliza Dushku recently- you can see it below thanks to huludotcom). While FOX and NBC apparently quick to jump on the Hulu bandwagon, another network has only just entered the mix: ABC. They just reached a deal with Hulu to own a stake in them and seats on their board. In exchange, Hulu gets to air classic Disney films as well as new episodes of their hit shows after they’ve aired on TV. Yes, there is no reason now why you should have to miss any of your favorites. This deal also includes Disney channel shows like Wizards of Waverly Place.
What do you think of this deal? Do you like the ease of watching shows online or would you prefer to watch them on a TV set instead? Do you not like how tech advanced we’re getting at the expense of some of the older ways? Comment and let me know. Take care!
Good morning again!! You know this show is always great for some awesome one liners. I’m here to once again share some of my favorites from the latest episode.
Katherine (after Rose tells her that death broke into her house and she attacked him with a baseball bat): I was wondering what they have you on.
Katherine (after hearing ‘death’ tried to steal some of Rose’s stuff): Death like nick nacks…
Susan (the girls are discussing Dave and how he’s not answering anyone): I left that casserole three days ago. I’m surprised the squirells haven’t gotten to it yet.
Lynette:Maybe they did. See any dead squirrels around?
Tom (asking Lynette for some nookie): Lynette, please…
Lynette: Oooh, whining. That’s hot.
Tom (about Lynette showering in Carlos’ office): I’m not comfortable with this. What if he walks in on you?
Lynette: Then maybe I’d get that raise I’ve been asking for.
Andrew: So Orson’s decided to happy. Isn’t that great?
Bree:He sounded very sincere.
Andrew: I’ll bet. So just happy is he going to be? Is he going to whistle while he works or just skip around the house occasionally?
Bree: I did not raise you to be bitchy.
Andrew: No, you raised me to be passive-aggressive. My bitchiness? That was self taught.
Andrew (Not believeing what Orson told Bree): Your BS meter might be broken, but mine works just fine.
Gabby (worried about Tom’s friendship with one of the girls in the garden club): Look, I love you Tom, but you’re my friend with a small f. My friend with the big F is Lynette. So if I see something that could hurt her you bet your ass I’m going to do something about it.
Tom: Look, a friend offered me a ride. If you want to hurt Lynette and twist it into something it isn’t screw you. And that’s with a big f.
Lynette: Because it’s Patty Rizzo, she’s a total slut! You should be on antibiotics just for sitting in her car!
Gabby (after Carlos tells her to stay out of the fight between Tom and Lynette): Don’t snap at me! Lynette’s my friend, I was just watching her back.
Tom: While your husband was watching her front.
Well, that’s about it for quotes…. do you have any? Have any thoughts on the ones I picked? Drop me a comment to let me know. Take care and I’ll see you next time. I leave you with the new promo, thanks to CoolDHfan:
Hey everyone!!! Sorry this didn’t show up sooner. Apparently, I had some glitches today and left so fast after posting, I didn’t notice it didn’t go through right. Anyway… I thought today would be a good one to pick an actor/actress of the week.
This was a hard one… I had a few I really liked and finally decided that the top spot is shared by two actors: Marcia Cross and Neal McDonough. They both are dealing with some really serious stuff and are two of the better parts of this episode to me. First off… Bree. I love how she didn’t end up selling her business and she’s willing to think and not just take Orson’s word for anything. For a brief, awful moment I was actually thinking Bree was going to turn into some obedient wife groveling at his feet to make him happy again. I love how Marcia managed to portray so many things all at once: her hope that maybe they could work things out somehow, her hurt at his previous betrayal and the anger she had to feel after finding out Orson was lying all along. Can’t wait to see how this whole thing turns out. You know Bree is gonna make him pay big time for all the stuff he’s been pulling.
Neal, as always, is awesome to watch. He was Dave in this episode, and he actually made me believe that Dave truly did feel grief and guilt over Edie’s death. I actually am starting to believe, too, that he really did love her Wysteria Lane or not. Whether it started that way or just ended up that way, I don’t know. I also was genuinely creeped out by Dave’s scene with MJ at the end and have one thing to say to the writers: don’t you dare let him hurt that adorable kid and maybe take him off the show!
So what do you all think? Am I right in my picks? Anyone you would have chosen instead? Be sure to comment and let me know.
Wow… that was quite the episode, wasn’t it? For anyone who missed it, here’s a little recap/review of last night:
If you watched the previews I posted before, you knew this episode was going to continue dealing with the aftermath of Edie’s death. Everyone is still feeling it to some extent and there are still angles yet to be explored that I’m sure will come up at some point. Let’s start, though, with Gabby.
The Solises
Gabby’s joined a garden club and is not happy to discover that there’s actual gardening going on there. She’s not the only one, either. Because of this, she decides it’s time to organize a coup. Unfortunately, there’s 6 on their side and six that will definitely be on the other. To remedy this, Gabby recruits Tom to join the club and be their tie-breaker. It works almost a little too well, though, as Tom becomes very popular with the girls and Gabby steps in to keep Lynette from maybe getting hurt.
The Scavos
So why was Gabby so worried? Turns out Tom is getting ignored by a busy Lynette and wasn’t exactly ignoring the attention of the other ladies. He doesn’t intend on cheating, though. He gets a bit concerned, though, when he finds out Lynette’s been using Carlos’ bathroom at the office to shower. He doesn’t like it, especially once Carlos ends up accidently seeing Lynette naked when she falls there. This was after promising she wouldn’t use the shower there again.
The Hodges
Bree’s decided to try and make things work with Orson, and Andrew is not happy about it. He keeps reminding Bree about the things Orson has done, but she doesn’t wanna hear about it, going to visit him at the hospital, where he’s being treated for that baseball bat to the head. Of course, no one but him knows how he really got the injury. How? The lady he was robbing at the time had a small heart attack after and now she’s talking about Angels of Death that tried to steal a nicknack from her and caused Edie to crash. Orson hears about this and plays it to his advantage, actually helping to get her put in a home. Bree finds out about all this from Katherine, who’s been visiting the woman and gets angry that Orson has been lying again. He claimed he hit his head while out on a walk. She decides that she may have to divorce him after all and goes to Andrew for help. He’d offered to get a list of attorneys together earlier. If she’s this mad now, wait’ll she hears about the Edie connection.
Susan
So, everyone’s been trying to help Dave through his difficult time. Mike and all the girls try stopping by to talk to him. Susan finally gets her foot in the door and, after seeing a gun and hearing him talk strangely, worries he might try and off himself. To protect him, she steals his gun, knives, ties and anything else she can find that he might be able to use to commit suicide. She promises to come back later to see him, and when she does, Dave is furious to learn she reported him as a suicide risk. To be fair to Susan, though, she didn’t have much choice. Genious left the basket full of knives and all in her front passenger seat. When a cop stopped her for talking on a cell phone, he sees it all and arrests her, thinking she’s dangerous. She apologizes for it and actually gets Dave to talk some. He admits how guilty he feels over Edie’s death because they had gotten into a fight and she ran off, getting into the accident. Susan tries to make things better by telling him she understands how he feels, telling Dave about the accident she and Mike were in and how they lied and told the cops that Mike was driving since Susan had discovered she forgot her license. Dave plays nice and hugs her, but you can see the wheels are turning. At the end of the episode, he sees MJ about to walk into the street and stops him, telling MJ his mom would be devastated if anything were to happen to him. And suddenly, I’m very scared for MJ. Anyone else? Share your own thoughts below and let’s chat about em! Take care and see ya tomorrow. Here’s a little promo for next week, thanks to Brent 0788:
Good afternoon and happy Friday, everyone!! Are you all ready for the new episode this weekend? I know I am! To get you in the mood, here are some sneak peaks that have been posted on youtube by CoolDHfan and DHCentral. I’ll post a little commentary after the videos for anyone who might not be able to view them properly.
So, this episode is called Rose’s Turn and still touches on the aftermath of Edie’s death, which I think is really cool as most shows tend to never mention big events like this after they first happen. Basically, the main thing revealed in the sneak peaks is that the housewives and their men are trying to be nice and help Dave through his difficult time. Mainly because of their bond with Edie. In one, Mike visits Dave to offer him some food and help only to have Dave snap at him. Dave is furious that Mike would act like he knows what he’s going through right now and just wants to be alone. Mike later visits Susan in another clip and tells her about what happened. There’s another clip that shows the Housewives knocking on Dave’s door and getting no answer. They decide to keep knocking and trying to help Dave in anyway they can and won’t give up until he finally answers them.
One of the most boring (and kind of disturbing) clips features Lynette and Tom. Tom’s practically begging Lynette for some action and she’s refusing, claiming to be tired. She finally sarcastically gives in going on about how horrible the whole thing will be and Tom can’t jump on her fast enough causing her to push him away. It doesn’t show more than that, but I’m guessing another fight happens.
Hello, everyone!! So, I thought today would be a good one to share some of my favorite quotes from the latest episode. This episode is full of good ones, too. Especially the scene with Edie and Susan. So, let’s get down to it, shall we?
Edie (commenting on Susan saying she’ll be ok): Susan Mayer, wrong again.
Edie: I died just as I lived- the complete and utter center of attention.
Karen: If you start singing, I’ll start bitching and you don’t want that.
Lynette (joking about Susan’s idea of telling Edie stories): How about the time she tried to steal you comatose boyfriend? That was fun!
Susan: I was thinking of a story that puts Edie is a positive light.
Gabby: And after that 5 minutes is up, then what do we do?
Susan: I live here, I can prove it. I know exactly what’s in this bag: empty egg carton, coffe grings, shampoo bottles…
Edie: What removal cream?
Susan: You’re right. I’m homeless.
Edie: You can fill me in on all the neighborhood gossip. Starting with the woman across the street with the muffin basket- she’s a robot right?
Edie (she arrives at Susan’s house after they fight over an affair she’s having to tell her about Karl cheating): Hi, I’m the whore that lives across the street, can I borrow a cup of condoms?
Susan: A cup? Are you sure that’ll be enough?
Gabby: Say what you want about Edie, she sure understood men.
Karen: She should, after all those years of research!
Bree: A little reverance for the dead would be in order.
Lynette: Oh please, this is Edie. A little irreverance is in order.
Gabby: (after Susan insists she needs for words to describe Edie instead of the 1 everyone else uses) Edie would so not be surprised you’re ruining this moment.
So, did I pick your favorites or did I leave some vital quotes out? Be sure to check out the comments and let me know. Take care and see ya next time!
Well, the big episode wasn’t all that big of a hit. Apparently, Edie’s farewell only got about 13 million viewers. That is definitely down from most of the episodes this year. (::waits for Nicollette Sheridan to release an ‘I told you so’ statement::) Seriously though? I think it’s more the network’s fault than the writers and I certainly don’t think they lost all those viewers just cause Edie’s gone. American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, CSI and Two and a Half Men all got between 25 and 15 million viewers, with CBS winning the week.
Why is that? In a word? Scheduling. We’ve had a lot of dry spells this year with no new episodes, some lasting a month or more. The show will come back for a week or two and then be gone again for awhile. Personally, I think it’s confusing to the viewer and leads to viewer apathy. People are busy and they’ve got a lot on their minds and aren’t checking their listing religiously for new episodes. I’d say there are a lot of people out there who maybe didn’t know a new episode was coming on or just forgot because they’re used to repeats. Hopefully, next year will be more consistent… I’ve noticed that this isn’t the only show with that problem (90210, anyone?).
The good news? We’ve still got a few episodes left and for anyone who wasn’t aware, we’re getting them all in a row! I’m definitely looking forward to finishing out the season properly.
I usually tape Desperate Housewives and 24 (which I also do a blog on) whether I’m home to watch it or not because I like to re-watch when working on some of the posts. It’s easy to miss little details here and there (or get called away from the TV). In this case, I missed a few minutes at the beginning of the latest episode. I actually sat down to watch it about the time Edie was telling Susan about Karl’s fling with his secretary. Because of that, I actually was getting kind of a ‟let’s make Edie a Saint‟ vibe from the writers that kind of surprised me.
I was glad to watch the first few minutes this morning because it gave me a different perspective on the episode. After seeing the whole thing, I think it had a great balance between highlighting the good parts of the character while recognizing she was anything but saintly. I particularly loved getting to see that Edie and Susan were once good friends and how they met (figures Susan would get spotted eating a pastry out of her garbage can cause ‘it hit the laundry detergent box’).
I think given what a showcase this episode was, that Nicollette is my actress of the week this time around. She did an awesome job of portraying all the facets they showed to Edie: her snarky/blunt nature, her helpful and nice side as well as her darker/reflective side. She also did pretty well with the voiceover. Good for her for a great run on the show. Take care and I’ll see y’all next time. I leave y’all with an Edie tribute by reeceybitch:
Well, they promised Edie a nice final episode and they delivered. It was interesting to see them re-doing the concept of the 100th episode for her. In the 100th episode, it was a little more moving and tear-jerky through the whole thing while this one was a lot of fun. It definitely captured Edie’s spirit and the way the ladies felt about her as they recall special moments. Unlike the 100th episode, these aren’t private thoughts. They actually tell each other the stories as they’re driving to inform Edie’s son of her death.
Susan recalls when she first met Edie and how Edie had pretty much clued her in to something funky going on with Karl. Susan, of course, didn’t want to hear it and got angry with Edie. Edie told her she was just trying to help and Susan acknowledges in the present day that she should’ve listed to Edie back then because shortly after that conversation, Susan found proof of Karl cheating.
Lynette remembers when she was sick and Edie came over. Katherine was going to drive Lynette to her chemo appointment, but Edie insisted on taking her since Katherine had a lot to do. Instead of taking her straight to the appointment, Edie takes Lynette to a bar to play a little pool and do a shot or two. Lynette objects, going on about being sick and Edie calls her on it. She says Lynette needs to toughen up and remember who she is, because she’s been getting a little too weak willed and all. Lynette jokes after telling that story that Edie insisted the shots are what actually cured Lynette.
Bree remembers back to when Orson was in prison and she was scared to go and visit. She chickens out on a visit, only to find out Orson is going to have another visitor anyway: Edie, who lives only 15 minutes away. Bree confronts her and Edie calls Bree on not going to see him and reminds Bree that Orson needs the visits to get him through this. Bree later does go to see him and apologizes for having stayed away for so long.
The best one, though, was Gabby’s, which I showed y’all the sneak peak of. I was surprised by the aftermath of that contest though. After Gabby beats her, Edie leaves her at the bar. Gabby later catches up with Edie and gives her a hard time about it. Edie apologizes and says she just had to be alone for a bit. She knows that her looks aren’t forever and she’s upset because she already knew they were starting to fade a little. The contest just confirmed it for her. Gabby tries to make her feel better, but Edie tells her it’s ok and then reveals to Gabby that she’s always felt that she won’t live to an old age anyway (how about that- Edie was psychic )
Karen also has a little flashback to years ago, when she was depressed over the anniversary of her son’s death. Edie comes by and they talk a bit, Edie eventually revealing she has a son to Karen and telling her that she gave up custody because she doesn’t feel she’d be a good mother to her son. This seems to be the beginning of the little bond between her and Edie. The episode ends with the ladies spreading Edie’s ashes along Wysteria Lane. Well, that’s it for now. Don’t forget to comment and let me know what you thought of the episode Take care and see ya tomorrow.
Good evening everyone! So, who is ready for the weekend? Anyone have big plans? Let’s chat about it. Mine is pretty much going to consist of cleaning, the library and lots of guitar hero (yes, I suck at it but it’s fun!) Before all that though, there’s still today’s post to deal with. I was browsing the news sites and forums today and I came across a link to an interview with Gale Harold. It’s a little bit spoiler, but I guess it’s nothing too bad. Mostly, he talks about his accident and the recovery process he had to go through to get back on set. Here’s the link if you want to read it. He comes across really well in it and he seems to have a great attitude. Not sure about him wanting to get back on a bike again, though. I only rose one once, didn’t get hurt and you still couldn’t pay me to get on one. Anyone else agree?
Here’s a video interview he did with Extra, thanks to Got Tha411:
There’s also a little follow up to Nicollette’s TV Guide interview I liked to before. This site has some stuff that wasn’t included about how the news got broken to her and her reaction to Marc’s aging neighborhood tramp remark. It’s a hoot and I think it shows she has a bit of a sense of humor about the whole thing. After the published piece, I was starting to wonder.
Well, that’s about it for now. Have a great weekend and I will see you all again on Monday with my recap of the new episode this Sunday.
It feels like ages since we’ve been able to see sneak peaks of a new episode. Well, we have one now! It’s a flashback scene featuring Gabby and Edie. Here is the clip, thanks to Desperate Addicts(If you don’t wanna know anything, don’t scroll down because I’m posting a summary and thoughts on it). If you’re brave enough, click on the cut. Otherwise, I give you this alternative. Read the rest of this entry »
So, the entertainment news sites are still buzzing about Nicollette and her departure from the show. This time, it’s TV Guide that’s giving her a spotlight, complete with cast memories of her and her time on the show. You can read some of it here. The rest, you’ll have to pick up the new issue of TV Guide.
Ya know… I found this article really interesting given the rumors that have been out there about Nicollette and her supposed issues with Marc Cherry, especially when she talks about him possibly not being able to separate fantasy and reality and his comments about her really not having anywhere to go. I mean, it’s not like there aren’t a couple other characters who aren’t taking up space at the moment. There’s always somewhere to take a character and I do feel like Edie does provide some much needed comic relief and reality checks. Especially where Susan is concerned.
The memories kind of struck me as well. While a few of them are amusing and sweet, several of them are kind of anti-climatic. She hasn’t taken Katheryn Joosten shoe shopping despite a promise and she had the best trailer? Ok… Still, I do like Eva’s and Teri’s stories.
So hat does everyone else think? Is Marc right? Is there nowhere else to take Edie or do you see Nicollette’s side of things? Who had your favorite Nicollette story? I’m looking forward to getting to chat about it in the comments. Til next time, take care. I leave you with a promo for this Sunday thanks to coolDHfan:
It looks like the Savant house is not the only one who’s busy lately. The Macy/Huffman home is also bustling lately. Remember when I told y’all that Felicity’s husband, William H. Macy, was in a production of Speed the Plow? Well, now he’s doing something else. He’s now planning to try his hand at directing. It’s a movie called Keep Coming Back. No details have been released about it, but he’s currently trying to get the financing together to get the project off the ground.
In the meantime, he’s getting ready to star in a movie called Bart Got a Room. It’s an independent film about a kid who tries to get a date (and a hotel room) after someone else does and Macy plays the father. If you want to read a little more about it, check out the link to the full story.
He also discusses raising kids and being an older man in Hollywood and trying to transition from the roles he used to play into roles that would make more sense for him now. It’s a really good read and I love his attitude about it all. I can definitely see what Felicity sees in him. I also find it funny that he was, once again, not allowed to say no to a part. Well, I guess that’s about it for now. I hope y’all have a good night and I’ll see you again tomorrow with more. And don’t forget… this Sunday is a new episode.
Hey, everyone!! I have a small scoop for you regarding Gale (don’t worry. It’s not all that spoilery), but first, I wanna fill you in on what Teri was up to recently. She did an interview with MSNBC about the Comedy for A Cure event that was held recently with Dana Delany also in attendance.
So, the event is a fundraiser for a disease called Tuberous Sclerosis. It’s kind of rare, but it does affect quite a few kids and their families. Basically, it causes tumors on different organs in the body leading to multiple seizures. It’s a disease with no cure, but according to Teri, they are getting close. They’ve already made some great progress in developing genetic testing and treatments for it. Every year, they hold the Comedy for a Cure event to not only raise money, but to make sure that people are aware of the disease and the horrible effects it can have. She also mentions how the research they do with this money can lead to other breakthroughs down the line in the treatment and curing of other diseases.
If you want to learn how Teri got involved, what keeps her motivated to keep pushing to raise awareness and how you can maybe help too, check out the full interview at the MSNBC website. She also adds a little Gale scoop at the end. I say good for her for trying to make a difference. If you or someone you know has been affected by this and you’d like to share more information, just post in the comments below. Well, that’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see y’all tomorrow.
